Had planned to go for a family break to Carlisle and so having been on a similar weekend last year wanted to support one of the many local hotels rather than a national chain. I came with expectations that it would be friendly, clean with probably tiring décor and would say it was pretty much that. Plenty parking, nice big...

This was a very last minute booking and after reading the reviews I was expecting some thing between the bates motel and a working men's club. But I was very surprised. Yes it is rough around the edges and it is out dated but for the traveling business man it is perfect. Comfy rooms, friendly staff, good selection behind the...

For the price offered, I look for a clean and friendly service and that's what I got. Downstairs you can stand or sit by the bar or the neighbouring lounge and get good English (and other) fare. The bar company were great. Warning: lots of stairs no lift... part of the Victorian architecture... just make sure they can provide someone...

So we booked the hotel as a stop over from skye to Gloucestershire. Needless to say we we're shattered from the 9 hour drive. Upon arrival the area didn't look like somewhere I'd take an evening stroll without a sidearm. Staff were rude and abrupt (we we're eventually helped by a woman who wasn't so rude and abrupt), there was...

After 9 hours of driving we arrived at this "hotel" to very rude and abrupt service, even when they were trying to help. Please note if you book using booking.com and make any alterations, they for some unknown reason won't receive them, likewise the extra notes you add such as "with a dog". Moving on, when we arrived there was...

Recently stayed for one nights bed & breakfast whilst attending an evening function at the Hotel. Our room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable , in fact we have stayed in far more expensive hotels where the beds have been a lot more uncomfortable than the Pinegrove beds. Breakfast was served between 8.00 - 9.30 and...

Stayed July 2016 for a 30th birthday party that was held in the function room at the hotel. Rooms a little dated but very clean. Staff were really helpful. Nice breakfast. Would definately stay again when visiting Carlisle.

Needed somewhere to stay over night on business. Arriving early evening. Booked for me. Easy to find, on the main road just out of town. Good, well lit, elevated parking on the front of the hotel. Pleasant building outside. Lady on reception was friendly, helpful and useful. Good customer service. Asked for changes to my evening meal deviating from the...

Booked this hotel for an overnight stay with my partner on a recent visit to Carlise. Looked really nice on the web page and the price was ok £64.00 for 2 bed and breakfast. Upon arrival the outside look oldie worldie. Checked in and given our key to room number nine. On our way up we noticed a fosty smell...
