A very comfortable overalll stay with delightfull hosts and a full english breakfast to die for.The rooms are very clean and very comfortable and little if any disturbance from any other room. The history of the building is interesting to understand. The location in relation to the town center is very convenient for any evening meal, 7 min by car.

What an amazing beautiful place. I was initially surprised when my sat nav was leading me through a housing estate but hidden away like a shining diamond was this beautiful farmhouse. It actually reminded me like something out of a Harry Potter novel, lol! We stayed in the newly refurbished Tudor Room which slept 3 with a shower room. It... More

Great price, excellent hospitality and ran by two hospitable hosts. Rooms are very nice and the breakfast is excellent. The location is surburbia rather than some farmland retreat but then this is what we expected. As value for money goes competitively priced and was great as a stop over for ourselves. The most important part of any stay is the... More

my partner and i stayed here for one night and what a delightful surprise! please print directions to get there as the farmhouse is nestled in a housing estate, but as soon as you drive through the gates you travel back in time to a beautiful old farmhouse. We had a very warm welcome from the owners and pepper the... More

The family room was very nice, very comfortable, with lots of space for three adults. The wash basin was in the main room rather than in the bathroom, which made it very efficient in the morning. The building is old but with a lot of character, and spotlessly clean. Peaceful setting. Breakfast was excellent. As other reviews indicated, it is... More

Karen and Chris were extremely friendly. The rooms (double and single) were lovely, large and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty. Any request or tips that we asked for were answered with great desire to help.

A very warm welcome at this very comfortable hotel. Chris and Karen are excellent hosts. There is a good choice on the breakfast menu and the food is excellent quality. Compliments to the scrambled egg chef. We were able to book an extra night at short notice whilst at the hotel so fortunate enough to stay in two different rooms... More

The owners make absolutely natural hosts - led very much, during my stay, by Chris. And there's no denying it represents excellent value for money - I stayed in the Wysteria, (generous) single room for just £55/night including parking, a full English breakfast and free wifi. The facilities were good - unexpected items like a trouser press in my en... More

Don’t be put off by the fact that it appears to be in a housing estate, as Yallands Farmhouse is actually in a quiet location with plenty of on site parking. The hosts are welcoming and the rooms are clean and tidy, although in keeping with its farmhouse origins the rooms are by no means contemporary. My room had a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Owners Chris & Karen Ward look forward to welcoming you to Yallands Farmhouse - our delightful Grade II Listed building dating back over 400 years, which sat amidst acres of green fields for several centuries. The expansion of Taunton during the 1970's led to new housing being built on the former farmland. The farmhouse, with its secluded garden, small orchard, and stone barn was left intact. As a result, Yallands has become an unexpected 'oasis' of peace and tranquility within a modern corner of Somerset's county town. Yallands offers self-assessed 4 star accommodation in Taunton, Somerset. The house is situated 1 1/2 miles from Taunton town centre, on the north-western edge of the town, and is easily reached from the M5 motorway - junction 25 (4 miles), and junction 26 (6 miles). For those who are reliant on public transport a local bus, with a stop at the foot of the garden, provides a frequent daytime service to and from the town centre. The lovely town centre provides excellent shopping and county cricket, horse racing, golf, theatre and other leisure facilities are all available nearby. Taunton has a good selection of restaurants and wine bars to suit most tastes and the surrounding countryside offers many delightful pubs which serve excellent food. There is ample car parking space in the private grounds together with lockable cycle storage in the stables. Why not enjoy relaxing in our gardens in the summer or sitting in front of our open fire in those cold winter months? Yallands is open all year round and - whether you are a tourist or a business visitor - you can be assured of a warm welcome and our individual attention.Yallands is particularly convenient for Taunton School, The Somerset Heritage Centre & Nuffield Hospital. ... more   less
