It was some while since I had last visited this hotel, so my expectations were largely based around its wonderful location. Our room was a decent size but spoiled by the general lack of attention to detail: the sash window frames could have been used for a small market garden they were so dirty. If you think that uneven and...

I went for afternoon tea at The Mount. The views and surroundings are lovely but the lounge area is a bit tired. There appeared to be a lack of communication between the front desk and the restaurant staff as we "checked in" at the front desk, and were shown to a table (which was not large enough to to accommodate...

My partner and I stayed here for a mini break, thanks to the Daily Telegraph readers' offer in late March 2017 and the experience was most enjoyable. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate in Taunton the first evening but dined at the hotel the next night, This was an enjoyable experience as we wandered into the lounge...

I was very impressed with the Mount Somerset hotel. First of all, the reservation was simple to make and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Having a service/assistance dog - I wanted to make sure it was possible for us to stay and feel welcomed. The staff could not have been more helpful and supportive. The room was comfortable and...

Stayed for a weekend in one of the rooms with the private garden and hot tub. Everything was perfect, from the champagne waiting for us to the temperature of the water in the tub. Huge bed, really comfy, roll top bath, walk in shower you could fit a car in. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, the service attentive but not...

We visited in March and had been looking forward to using the spa. The showers were icy cold, as was the foot spa, the hydrotherapy pool was out of order so that left the steam room only. We paid for a message (which was very nice) but again, the showers were freezing afterwards. We advised the spa manager that there...

One of the few hotels I have been to, and I've been to hundreds, where the staff seem very happy to be working their. I found all to be courteous and helpful. The spa is quite small - don't think 30 metre pool and shower rooms - but then its a small tucked away hotel. Fabulous setting and the food...

A very pleasant stay at this hotel set in beautiful countryside near to Taunton. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and our room was large with a view of the fields. Shower excellent, plenty of hot water. We made use of the spa facilities and had a treatment each, to be recommended. We had booked in for dinner, bed and...
