The Midgley is a quaint little motel set in the West Yorkshire countryside, just off the M1 and 10 minutes from Wakefield. The rooms are quite large and the staff are friendly. It's a little dated in terms of decor but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean. There seems to be lots to do in the...

Booking was simple and easy, one quick phone call direct to the motel (call answered almost immediately) and the room was booked along with the breakfast requirements. The location was easy to find – 5 minutes from the M1 and along the A637 at the cross roads in the small village of Midgley. There was parking available for all almost...

Quite surprising after reading reviews about this motel. I stayed one night with my partner after a wedding at YSP. The location is good being only five minutes from Yorkshire Sculpture Park however there was no hot water throughout our stay meaning we had to get cold showers before the wedding. The manager did not apologise and was very unfriendly....

We had an upstairs room which looked out onto the golf course and surrounding countryside - what a fantastic view. The bathroom looked a bit...

Due to family being nearby we have stayed here twice a month for a few months now and, given some of the (in my opinion) rather unfair reviews, I've decided to add my comments. Midgley Lodge is a small friendly hotel very close to Junction 38 & 39 of the M1. On the doorstep of the Yorkshire Mining Museum and...
