We live locally and regularly visit the Haven which is set in the beautiful location of Sandbanks. It is important to get a room with a sea view to fully appreciate it. The staff were polite and helpful and even noted the occasion of our anniversary which I guess I mentioned when booking. My only criticism is that the dinner... More

The Haven hotel is in a fabulous position and ideal for going over to Studland beach on the chain ferry for long walks or for enjoying the miles of sandy beaches at all times of the year. Be aware there is a popular nudist section that occupies quite a long stretch of the beach.

Lovely hotel with a great location, as for rooms again lovely views but we had a superior family room with balcony which was lovely if only the jet Bath worked and floor didn't didn't make so much noise when walking on it, lose floorboards- we felt bad by walking over it as whoever was under us it must of been... Such a shame that the staff were so rude over their administrative errors and lack of heating for one night when it came to pay the bill. Sadly it was just two members of staff, but it clouded what was to be a weekend of r and r badly. The restaurant was fabulous and the evening and daytime staff were... More

Perfect location right on the waters edge, but the structure and decor are begging for a major overhaul. If you like shabby chic, this is the spot for you, but if you prefer modern, you should look elsewhere. A lick of paint just won't cut it here (you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear), but a... More

This hotel is a bit like the "parsons egg" good in parts. It desperately needs a refurbishment. Our room had a lovely sea view, quite small and furnished in eighties style. It was clean but shabby, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water but no heating in the bathroom and a poor shower over the bath. We used... More

Staff advised hotel being demolished next year - if correct this would explain why the rooms and corridors are very dated and they do not reflect the price paid. Shower - lacks power but enough to wash long hair in. Fridge in the room but empty! Spa-outside pool nice touch but needs updating eg grouting crumbling away. Indoor pool/hydrotherapy area... More

Lovely hotel. I think the rooms have been overhauled since my last stay. We ate in the restaurant and thought overpromised a little . There is a bar menu but we weren't made aware of it. Outside swimming pool, access to beach and small indoor plunge pool. Lovely staff

Plenty of parking and check in was friendly and efficient. My room was comfy and there was even a balcony, with a sea view! Breakfast was nicely cooked but service was very poor. Checkout was efficient and polite. Overall very good value and thoroughly recommended

Very welcoming staff. Room (single) was well equipped and modern, nice touch of two different types of bottled water for free. Breakfast was amazing, lots to choose from. Lovely view from my room, 217.
