After seeing the reviews we desisted on the Salthouse for a weekend getaway. B&B with afternoon Tea included for a great price. I can honestly say there wasn't a disappointing moment all weekend, bar the rubbish weather! Service was excellent , food was plentiful & tasty. The room was clean , modern and had loads of space with the roll...

Went to Salthouse for dinner with friends, really enjoyed the all round experience. Welcome drinks lovely in the hotel lobby and corner table in restaurant. Food was good, lamb special was excellent. Wine choice really good although white wine needed to be colder and the red wine warmer. Odd. Service was just a little slow, but great when it happened....

My husband & I had a great meal here with fabulous wine. If you like wine this hotel has a very extensive wine list to suit all tastes. We have been to a few food & wine pairing evenings and my advice would be to get a taxi!! Will definitely be visiting again with a larger wine glass:) Fabulous staff...

We stayed for the Sunday night suite special offer. We had stayed previously so we knew the rooms and food were excellent. Out last stay was six years ago, due to price of rooms and food it's only something we can do as a special treat. Our room was 508 (Sail Loft Marina) lovely view of the harbour, huge bed,...

Stayed here on business for a night and was overwhelmed by the views of the harbor from the room balcony. It was spacious and comfortable too. The area was quiet and peaceful with many restaurants around. Good place to relax specially after a busy day.

Had a fantastic night at the Salthouse harbour hotel, took my partner for an early valentines treat. Arrived early afternoon and was impressed from the start, the car park attendant welcomed us in and offered to carry our luggage which was nice, we sat in the hotel lounge with a bottle of wine, looking out over the harbour in the...

2nd time I have stayed here, first time on business and this time I went with my wife. The location of the hotel is great, right next to the Marina. The surrounding area has improved a lot since my last visit with a lot more bars and cafe' in the area which is great. A nice walk around the marina...

Forget the weather, economy etc., come and be enveloped in the uber cool vibe of this unique hotel. My penthouse suite with views and a balcony overlooking the marina and yachts was everything and more I had hoped for, an experience not to be missed. The staff made the stay extra special and nothing was too much trouble. Top tip:...

We are west-Londoners, so heading eastwards (instead of the usual schlep into the Cotswolds or west country ) was a bit counter-intuitive to everything we know & love about crossing London or orbiting the M25 at weekends....but what the heck. Was it worth the slog ? Well, yes, partly. The Salthouse's hotel and restaurant are uniformly very good: motivated, helpful...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This artfully designed boutique Hotel and Restaurant in Suffolk reflects luxury and dazzles in the waterfront of Ipswich's vibrant Harbour quayside at night. The Salthouse Harbour Hotel goes beyond what you expect and exudes its 4 star status in every curious corner, eccentric sofa and unstuffy cushion. The sea-salted brickwork exterior has been restored & rejuvenated into a ship shape contemporary warehouse of rich modern interiors and rooms adorned with vintage furniture, sculptures and eclectic art. Within its comfy chic decor, although the mood is friendly and relaxed, the staff are professionally attentive to your every need. The cuisine is exciting and the popularity of the Salthouse Eaterie fills this delightful waterfront restaurant as soon as the tables are laid. ... more   less
