My father and 8 friends booked the Dunoon for their yearly Christmas meal outing, the chaps in their 70s dressed smart. The hotel it's self was festive, the group were ushered down corridors to a side room, cold, no festive decs, no music, terrible service. Cold plates, many muscles closed, meal poor, Christmas pud looked like a bookers offering! Drinks expensive and the group were beyond disappointed. I think it was £40 per head.
Stayed for 2 nights. The rooms were great (stayed in rooms above the Next Door Restaurant). The food was excellent, as was the service. Easy parking. The location could not be faulted as very central to the main part of Llandudno for shops and the pier. Would recommend staying here.
Feels like a hotel from a bygone age. Certainly an older clientele on the whole. During our stay the average age was probably 70 with a large contingent of bridge players. In contrast, we were in very modern, recently refurbished bedrooms that were well appointed and unexpected when compared to the historic nature and character of the public areas. Three course set dinner tasty and full Welsh breakfast done very well. (Limited continental/fresh fruit though). Overall a VERY pleasant experience and a hotel I'd be happy to return to.
This hotel is simply superb. So different to the bland 'chain ' hotels. It is full of character and is outstandingly comfortable with.tradional, timeless fittings, lovely table settings and wonderfully cooked and presented meals. This is the third visit for our bridge club and the service and attention to detail just gets better.Thank you to all the staff.Jean Chinn M.B.E.
Lovely hotel. Stayed in Next Door, large room,. Lovely modern bathroom, but missed nice white Fluffy towels. Tasty and hot food, varied breakfast menu, well cooked. Bar prices a bit expensive. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Would probably stay again.
We had only booked for one night but were so impressed we booked an extra night. Everything was absolutely perfect, beautiful hotel, wonderful staff and excellent food. The location could not be better, private parking, couldn't fault anything. Will definitely be booking again.
Old fashioned hotel with friendly professional service. Restaurant serves very good food at a reasonable price. Bar is expensive. Sadly as with many old hotels at some time ages ago the big rooms have been cut in two and then a tiny bathroom squeezed in the corner. Just enough room for a double bed but not enough room for two people. The bed was comfortable. I have had more room in an aeroplane toilet!!! No shelf space and a tiny basin. Check the room before you move in.
We stayed in the Dunoon hotel for three nights in a superior double room. The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely big bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a very nice restaurant where we enjoyed an excellent breakfast and evening meal. The bar and lounge were nice to sit in. With a very good location and easy parking we would very much recommend a stay here.
We were given a very warm welcome, a well appointed room ,excellent service, good food with lots of choices served in lovely surroundings. Places & shops nearby to visit & we saw sections of the Triathlon as well! Looking forward to our next visit in December .
Comfortable and sizeable room with decent view - great sleep - excellent food (breakfast and dinner)- very friendly and helpful staff. Lift to all floors. A perfect stay - will definitely be going again!
