A most perfect setting for afternoon tea with three generations of my family. We were sat in the library with a roaring fire and being able to enjoy that kind of privacy meant us ladies could truly put the world to rights! The sandwiches, pastries and scones were absolutely delicious and the Assam was certainly needed on such a cold... More

My wife and I stayed for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything about the hotel was superb. It is a wonderful old building and it maintains that charm and splendour. Our room (Number 8) had stunning views to the west and north and was beautifully appointed. The service, throughout the hotel, was friendly, courteous and incredibly efficient. We... More

Lovely hotel, our fourth visit I think, the staff are charming and the food is excellent with a reasonable wine list. Our only quibble is not the hotel but the disappointing standards of fellow guests; there is a dress code for dinner but few observe it. A tie is not mandatory but smart casual is the order of the day.... More

Great stay in two story cottage. They tried their best for my vegetarian diet - reminder , vegetarians also don't like goats cheese and Parmesan isn't vegetarian !! But the overall experience was five star and I will definitely be back.

Had drinks and Sunday lunch with elderly father. Had a good experience overall although having visited some years ago it wasn't as good as I remembered, some confusion on our dessert order and the desert delivered was the most tiramisu like Eaton mess I have ever had! Small service point: having been asked if we would like a break between... More

A beautiful historic country house. Wonderful gardens and views. Period furnishings, excellent staff. We stayed in an out building, Mill Cottage, this had a private garden at the rear and around the entrance, delightful. Parking is only just adequate and we would have appreciated more parking space. Staff always vigilant, pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast excellent, I loved the porridge. Dinner... More

Second time I have been for a spa day at Bodysgallen Hall and it did not disappoint. I was fortunate to have Mia as my therapist and would recommend her to anyone. She took extra care and attention with my treatments making the experience most enjoyable and relaxing. Complimentary teas and coffee were very welcome. The reason for my rating... More

This hotel set in the foothills of Snowdonia is a wonderful romantic getaway. It has gorgeous gardens, beautiful rooms and exquisite food. Just inland from Llandudno and a short trip into Snowdonia. The spa is small but very relaxing.

Enjoyed our afternoon tea. Plenty of cream cakes . We were looked after by the very efficient staff especially Katie who kept us supplied with tea and coffee and her lovely smile. Thank you Katie. I think a fire would have given the room more ambience.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle. Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. In September 2008 Historic House Hotels Ltd and its interest in all its properties were given to the National Trust to ensure their long-term protection, with all profits benefiting the houses and the charity. The 15 extremely comfortable bedrooms in the Main Hall offer several different room types, including the four elegant principal suites. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia. There are 16 cottage suites with picturesque names like The Smithy, Box Cottage and Pineapple Lodge, are situated in the grounds, and provide accommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private gardens and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa. All are charming and delightful. The Dining Room in the main hall has been awarded three rosettes for fine dining by the AA - the only restaurant in Llandudno to be awarded such - and offers imaginative meals prepared from fresh local produce and complemented by fine wine, and overlooks the gardens and has been recognised as one of the best places for Sunday Lunch in the United Kingdom by The Observer newspaper. The Spa is approached by a short walk through the garden or by a private road. Converted from an original stone built farm it contains a magnificent 50' swimming pool edged with comfortable reclining chairs, whirlpool spa bath, steam room and sauna. A superb gymnasium has all the latest technologically advanced equipment, suitable for all ranges of fitness. A comfortable Club Room is a place where guests and members can relax and enjoy drinks and light meals, which in the summer are also served on the terrace. Residential guests have full use of the Bodysgallen Spa.Bodysgallen Hall is situated about 2 miles south from Llandudno and the North Wales coast. It is surrounded by over 200 acres of beautiful gardens and wooded parkland. Bodysgallen Hall has magnificent views of Snowdonia, and Conwy Castle. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday at all times of the year. The hotel is ideally placed for visiting the many historic castles and stately homes in North Wales as well as the famous golf courses that adorn the coastline. ... more   less
