Stayed here 1st-3rd January as a Xmas present from my family for our anniversary, I can honestly say that the welcome we received upon check in was so warm and welcoming, lady on reception was lovely and gave us a complimentary upgrade, room was everything we expected, spotlessly clean and a lovely balcony Seaview, bar and food service excellent and great quality, staff going out of their way to make sure you have a great experience, breakfast, good choice and all served hot with attentive service from the friendly staff! We had an unfortunate incident that occurred whilst here, but the staff were amazing and the manager has more than compensated for this, although it was not in the control of the hotel! I am so looking forward to returning and am saddened to see a few recent negative reviews, which do not in my opinion reflect all the positives

We always stay at this hotel for business but unfortunately our recent visit will be our last. The extremely high prices in the restaurant have never matched the quality of food, but what was delivered last week can only be described as diabolical. Two persons eating, four attempts at starters sent back. Never experienced anything like it. You're charging £9 per starter for that nonsense

Unwelcoming reception Expensive drinks Awful cheap breakfast products Unsterile Gym Spa Not 4 star Cold hotel Uncomfortable bed Cheap shampoo Cheap spa slippers 20 parking spaces for over 98 rooms !!! Not worth the money no atmosphere or hospitality !! Not for families I would say Catered more to over 70 s With no taste buds food simply dreadful Shame we wasted our night in this dreary dump Although Llandudno is fantastic with lots of much better hotels this hotel ruined our time and money Certainly not 4 star more like 2 Dirty curtains grubby carpets stains on mattress thin towels thin bathrobe everything here is done on the cheap cheap cheap without question !! Needs a total revamp and new management Such a shame ☹️

Full of character welcoming and staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, once I turned the radiator off! This hotel will definitely keep you cosy!! Would have liked a stronger shower given how lovely the bathroom was! Never visited Llandudno before but I shall be returning with my wife in next year.

Short break for our wedding anniversary at a resort we haven't visited for nearly 50 years! The welcome we received at reception on arrival was second to non; polite, efficient and with a smile. This was repeated at breakfast where all staff were cheery and helpful. Our room was as booked (an occasional visitor as can be seen), and room service each day was very good. Great location on seafront, ample parking and the clean and well maintained pool/sauna/steam room were very good. Buffet breakfast with cooked to order options was very good too. Would recommend without hesitation.

Went with friends for one of their party nights 1st w/end in December. Lovely old fashioned hotel with attentive staff & excellent food. Very good position just moments from the shops, right in the centre of the promenade, bonus was finding a space in the car park so the car did not move all w/end. Very warm bedroom so even on a bitterly cold w/end had the window open, large bathroom with roll top bath & walk in shower powerful & very hot water. All in all a very good hotel.

Stayed in twin room for 3 nights. Disappointed with twin beds, 2 singles pushed together with single duvets. Not entirely twin! The room was big enough we managed to move furniture around! Spotlessly clean, housekeeping very friendly, requested no housekeeping on first morning as we were still in room, staff offered extra tea/coffee/water. Breakfast self service with large selection. Tea and coffee served to table. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Main downside room was very hot, we turned off radiator and opened window slightly and even in December it was too warm. Luckily had seen this mentioned in other reviews and took a fan with me!! All in all a lovely stau and would use hotel again if in the area!

We stayed for a week at this hotel and loved pretty much everything about this hotel and the staff. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of old world charm. It has a few creaky floorboards but that didn’t distract from our stay in any way. We stayed in 2 standard twin rooms which were of a good size and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. One of our family needed accessible bathroom and this was of a good size to allow easy wheelchair access and manoeuvrability. A choice of shower chair or stool was available for this room. The helpful and pleasant staff made our stay very relaxing. We booked the half board deal and found this to be a big plus. We could choose from the either the bar or the restaurant menu for dinner, with an allowance of up to £35 pp. The food from either menu was absolutely delicious and we think the AA rosettes are well deserved. To add to the pleasure of our dining experience, the hotel provided live music on three evenings. We really enjoyed this and especially the harp music. We looked forward to every meal and were never disappointed by the food. We did have one evening where the wait for food became very long. We had gone in to eat around 8 and we were still waiting for any sign of a main course after 9. We noticed that someone, who appeared to be connected with the hotel, came in some time after us and was on dessert before we had our main. This was the only real negative of our stay, but when the food came it was delicious as always. Breakfast was buffet style and again this was good. There was an extensive. Choice of hot and cold food and drinks. We did have have trouble getting the self serve toaster to make a decent slice of toast but staff were very happy to make some for us in the kitchen when asked. I think maybe a new toaster is needed for use by the guests. We tried the afternoon tea which was also delicious with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes. It was lovely to watch the waves through the window as we tucked into this. The hotel has a swimming pool and gym which we did not use during this stay. These had to be booked in advance. Although there is a lift to the pool and gym, the pool is not really accessible to wheelchair users. We had hoped to use the pool but the walkways at the side of the pool are extremely narrow ( not wide enough for our wheelchair ) and there is no pool hoist is available. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely recommend a stay here to relax and recharge your batteries.

We have stayed at the Imperial many times over the past 10 years. But haven’t had the opportunity to go since Covid. Since then, the service and attention to detail at the hotel has completely gone down hill. In the room one threadbare, damaged chair. And another covered in stains, and what appeared to be old blood stains. The breakfast was a massive let down. The main food is now buffet style. Stored in lukewarm servers, sitting in pools of water and fat. The staff didn’t come round to clear tables after continental breakfast, or to offer more teas and coffees. We had to pile plates on the floor and neighbouring tables. As well as taking cutlery and condiments from them. They didn’t care! There was a time where it was a luxury experience. Having your cup refreshed the moment it’s empty. Toast racks being brought out. Proper waiter service. Todays experience was worse than a Premier Inn pub breakfast! We raised concerns with the reception team and the owner. He apologised for the state of the furniture. But frankly wasn’t interested in anything else. There is no way this is a 4 star establishment now!

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Old-fashioned service, fabulous food and the most amazingly friendly staff we have ever encountered. We chose The Imperial for a 5-day break while having decorating done at home. I have stayed in north Wales on many occasions but have never visited Llandudno and the hotel had been recommended by a friend. From the genuine welcome on arrival to our reluctant departure, we were struck by the warmth of all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, with every member of staff going out of their way to talk to the guests. I can honestly say that this is the BEST experience of any hotel I have stayed in, both in the UK and overseas: I haven't laughed as much in any other hotel and the staff worked well as a team. The food and wine were excellent. We consider Welsh lamb to be the best in the world and the chefs at The Imperial did justice to this most excellent meat. The Welsh black sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection; I rarely eat steak away from home because so many have been tough or badly cooked, but these were succulent and tasty. Breakfasts were enjoyable, with a good variety. The swimming pool and spa facilities were very good. I am sure that there are visitors who will criticise the decor as being dated. I personally like the warm colour scheme which is in keeping with a building from the Victorian era. If guests are looking for plate glass, shining chrome and immaculate but boring paintwork, they should choose a modern hotel, not one with so much history and character. The only negative I can give is that the lifts are small and there are only two, but the age of the building would make it nigh on impossible to provide more; the staircases are wide and easy to use. Hotel parking was limited but parking on the promenade was not difficult. Llandudno itself is a very friendly and busy town, with a good range of shops and a welcoming atmosphere. We left relaxed and refreshed and we look forward to returning in the near future.
