Having made no reservation we found the ’Ivydene’ by pure chance - and what a stroke of luck it was! From the moment we rang the bell we were treated like good friends and felt comfortable at once. The house is meticulously clean - but in a cosy way! Breakfast is served punctual to the minute, cooked according to one’s...

Clean, comfortable, near sea front & town, tasty breakfasts cooked to order...what more could you ask for? Made to feel most welcome. I would stay here again if ever in Eastbourne and recommend it. I stayed 3 nights.

What a refreshing change staying in a Guest House as opposed to corporate hotel. Darren was so helpful with my late check in and delayed trains. I was warmly welcomed and shown to my well equipped clean bedroom. Lovely comfortable bed, clean linen, quality towels etc. I slept really well, no noise or disruptions. The cleanliness of the whole hotel...

My wife and I booked a three night stay and were not disappointed. Darren gave us a warm welcome, explained everything and showed us to our room (15) which was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. You could order your breakfast the day before from a menu card and this was served freshly cooked, without any delay - delicious! Darren's...

The hotel is lovely and clean and the breakfasts are great. Parking can be a little difficult. Darren and Martin certainly make you feel welcome and we would certainly recommend the Ivydene and would stay again.

Just hidden behind the main road along the beach front you find this amazing hotel. The warm welcome from Darren and Martin certainly makes you feel at home. Our room was exceptionally clean/faultless to be precise. My partner and I wanted somewhere quite special to go for dinner and Martin recommended a Thai restaurant called Seeracha which was a five...

The Ivydene was all that I wanted; it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were first class and the hospitality of Martin and Darren was outstanding. Their kindness, understanding and empathy helped me through a very difficult week. They are two lovely guys. I look forward to returning in the future.

Cosy, comfortable, well maintained and a warning atmosphere, Ivydene was a fantastic guest house. The joint owners made us very welcome and gave great recommendations about things to do in the local area. The room was clean, well-furnished and a good size. Breakfast was very good and although we didn't use them, the residents bar and lounge area looked very...
