Found out about David Lloyd having rooms through a family member. Prices appeared good and the fact that you have use of the great club facilities was a real bonus. Then I arrived! The rooms are miles from the front entrance. Whilst a back entrance is available it's not obvious where. The single key lets you into the lodge area... More

We had a really lovely weekend here with family. There are loads of great facilities - we went swimming twice, played lots of tennis and badminton, and it was close enough to pop into Eastbourne town centre. We had the option to use the gym but we didn't have time. We ate in the restaurant three times - there's an... More

Last week, my partner and I decided to spend the weekend in Eastbourne. We just could not find a reasonably-priced hotel for bed and breakfast; everything was either fully booked or over £100 per night. David Lloyd offered us a twin room en suite, with full English breakfast for £65 for the two of us!! Not only that but, if... More

My wife and I have been staying at Lloyd's Lodge for many years. The lodge is attached to a David Lloyd Club. The charge per person per night (Bed and breakfast) is very reasonable. Guests can have full use of the club facilities while staying. This includes the gym, two swimming pools (inside and outside), tennis courts (inside and outside)... More

What a great location for an inexpensive business trip to Eastbourne. Access to the David Lloyd Health Club and the bowling Centre. I thought it was going to be a lonely evening in with the newspaper and the TV for company but I had a really nice evening joining a team at ten pin bowling and a light supper to... More

My company have cut back on hotel expenses so I had no choice but to book this place. Was a bit worried by the recent reviews and this wasn't helped by the taxi driver who laughed when I told him my destination. The approach to the leisure complex doesn't do it any favours, it looks more like a prison camp.... More

David lloyd. Why not try to improve on the lodge just a little? A tiny bit of imagination and style would go a really long way!! And the presentation of help yourself breakfast cereals etc could be so much better ! Staff are lovely ! The back door facilities with a thousand cigarette butts is charming! Ever heard of outdoor... Having stayed here a couple of years ago I knew more or less what I was getting for my money, but it looks like they have made no effort to update the rooms at all. It was reasonably clean but there were tiny single beds with sheets and blankets, no duvets. The bedspreads were so old fashioned it felt like... More

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our weekend. Especially helping us take advantage of the fantastic sports facilities on offer as part of the package deal. Breakfast was good, staff again were friendly and helpful. The room was basic with dated bed sheets. A light bulb was out in the room, the shower didn't get very warm and bathroom... More

My daughter booked 4 rooms, 1 for myself & husband for 2 nights 1st-2nd Nov & 3 more for just Sat 2nd Nov. We also recommended the place to other family members as we were there for a family reunion nearby. Knew it was basic accomodation but family thought that would be acceptable in view of the availability of swimming... More

“Bring your sports gear, I think you can use the sports facilities. The taxi fare from Eastbourne station is about £7 using station taxis and a fiver with local firms. I believe there is a local rail station (hampden park?) but the inbound train doesn't stop there. Bring earplugs the rooms are right next to the bowling alley!”
