Perfect position for the town, sea front and the rail station. Gables is the best Guest House that I have stayed at in Eastbourne or anywhere else in the UK. Additional touches around the house (effective lighting as an example), makes this property stand out. Chrissy couldn't be more accommodating and in line with the standard, even the household dog...

We stayed here for one night before starting the south downs way. Was a perfect start and could not recommend the owners higher. Went out of there way several times for our benefit including making breakfast a lot earlier than usual and even driving us to the start of the south downs way just out of town. We didnt ask,...

This was our first visit to The Gables. We stayed for two nights in the Seaford Room. We had a wonderful welcome complete with a tray of refreshments. The house has a lovely warm and welcoming feel to it. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, who did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The room was large with...

We stayed in this B&B twice in Nov 2009 and Nov 2010. Both times we stayed for a weekend in The Alfriston room, which is very nice big room with an super comfy double bed. Breakfast is super. Location is very good - very easy to find and close to the city centre. The hosts are very friendly supplying visitors...

Couldn't fault the Gables from the welcome to the nice room to the best breakfast ever! One of the most satisfying bookings I have ever made.

As part of a group of 6 we had 3 rooms, and stayed one night. The rooms were very nice and each had a private ensuite which looked like they had been updated fairly recently. The hosts were very friendly and we had an excellent breakfast. If you are going out on foot there is not too much to see...

I have never reviewed a hotel before but I was so impressed by the friendly personal service provided at the gables I felt compelled. My friend and I were warmly welcomed. The room was very clean (a little dated) but the finishing touches of chocolates, water and toiletries was far and beyond what I expected for the price. The bed...

Second time we have stayed at The Gables and both times have been great. A very warm and friendly welcome, nice rooms and as good a breakfast as you will ever get. Will certainly stay there again.

Room was clean, light, airy, spacious and tastefully decorated. En suite was pristine with water hot - even a heated towel rail! Bed was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast menu was varied and appetising. Best of all Chrissy and Andy were helpful, very hospitable and had clearly thought of their guests' convenience. Location was within easy reach of centre and...

It's not very often that I find a place that makes me think, "I must come back". For a change, my experience matches what other reviewers have said - friendly and welcoming hosts, lovely homely interior, with good sized comfortable rooms. The hosts were really flexible with check in and out times too which helped us out. Very clean and...
