Sitting right on the brosundet (inner canal) this small, elegant hotel offers charm, sophistication and history while making the visitor feel like a friend rather than a customer. The lobby is welcoming, especially in the evening with the fireplace. The restaurant, Maki, gives the lobby area a feeling of elegance, yet by morning the same space is welcoming for breakfast....

Great stay in this beautiful hotel located in the heart of the old city of Alesund. Staff is friendly and make you feel confortable. Romm was clean, nice bathroom with a walk in shower with heated floor, fantastic! Breakfast is included and very well made including Norwegian delicacies. The lobby with the fire place is fantastic, such an atmosphere... Well...

First of all, I did not sleep there, but based on my impression with the bar, I am certainly considering sleeping there the next time I visit Ålesund. This bar probably have the best selection of both Whisky and Beer in the city. The bartenders were great and knowledgeable.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with great view. Very nice breakfast. Good wi-fi connection. Well suited for business travellers looking for an out of the ordinary place to stay. A small sauna and gym would be a great addition to the hotel.

Dear Hans, Thank you for your review and nice words. We know that a sauna and gym would be great for our guests, but for now we do not have room for it. Great place situated in the heart of the Jugend quarters of Ålesund. The staff is top trained, and caters premium food and liquids. A great brekfast, and a super open fire in the lobbey. The rooms are modern, a bit moderate in size, but still abselutley, a must check out! If you want a splurge, check out the upgraded rooms!...

We paid extra for a water view room. It had floor to ceiling windows that looked out at the water and also an adjacent building. The room was adequate in size with a nice shower. When we woke up in the morning a huge cruise ship was blocking our view and so close we felt we had to close the...

Excellent hotel for business trips. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Unfortunately the restaurant was full in the evening and I hadn't made a reservation. Only slightly minor issue was the shower door, bit of a puzzle to get into the shower.

Dear sir/madam, Thank for your review. Our restuarnt and bar is closed sundays, but I find it strange that the reception staff did not recommend other places than Lyst, because there are several restuarants available. I appologize for this and we will discuss this internal. I am glad you enjoyed the restaurant and the bar. We hope to see you...
