Marken gjestehus is a reasonably priced hostel, located in walking distance to the train station, city centre, shops and restaurants. The hostel has an excellent kitchen for self catering, the rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Going on a weekendtrip to Bergen with my teenage-son....and visiting Marken before, it seemed like the right place to book for 2 nights. Location is GREAT. Close to everything in Bergen City. We got an AMAZING room, stylish and with a great view. Common areas are warm and welcoming and has the best WiFi. Very tidy everywhere. Staff is EXTREMELY...

I've stayed in a 4-bed male dormitory. Definitely one of the top hostels I've been to. A good part of my positive impression is due to Katarina at the reception who has been incredibly nice and helpful, knowing everything I needed from opening times to where I'd be able to get stuff I still needed for a hike - Thanks!...

Marken is a rock solid 8/10 hostel, it has some great pluses, but could do with a small injection of character + heart. Pros: Perfect location, clean, friendly staff, the free wifi works well everywhere, A+ equipped kitchen and the best locker system I have ever come across (big lockers, no padlocks, 1 key and free). Seriously, more hostels need...

We stayed here in the first week of December and enjoyed ourselves. We loved the location of the hostel as we could get everywhere by foot. The staff weren't unfriendly but it was often hard to get information out of them in terms of things to do, places to go, help with getting to the airport etc. We really had...

My friend and I stayed here in 2 different occasions. The first time we had a private room and the second time we had a bed in a 10 female dorm. The hostel is great and the staff is very helpful and polite. It is centrally located and a 3 minutes walk away from the train station. You can reach...

Dec 12th - 15th - We stayed in a private room with a private bath. Our stay was quite comfortable. The guesthouse is a good value - rooms are somewhat small, but clean and quiet. Very good location and locally known, so it's easy to find without a map. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Very good location, nice staff. Room isn't very big but cozy. Nice view from the window. Full equipted kitchen. We had a room with a shared bathroom but it was no problem, no queue to toilets or shower. I would like to go back here.

The place is clean and well maintained despite it being a guesthouse. The kitchenette in the room is a bonus when cooking is essential (to bring down the cost when travelling in Norway). Highly recommended for wise travellers who want to spend on fjord tour or museum visits instead.

I had a very lovely stay at this hostel. The price was good for the area, the room was clean and comfortable, plenty of shower facilities. A fairly small kitchen but had everything you needed. Walking distance from main attractions and very close to the train station. The staff were very welcoming and helpful too. Very pleasant stay all round!

Thank Elizabeth W
