The guesthouse is in a good location. Short walk from train or bus station as well as the town center. Directions on the website were easy to follow. Please note: Bergen is quite hilly, so be prepared! Our room was clean and very basic. A room for two is two single beds pushed together (which seems to be the norm)....

We enjoyed our three night stay at Skivens Guesthus. It was only about a five minute walk from the train station to the quiet neighborhood and it was also convenient walk to the harbor, fiish market and most of the sights. Alf and Elizabeth live upstairs over four lovely rooms sharing two toilets, one with a shower. The place was...

Skiven Guesthouse was a charming place to stay for our one night in Bergen (recommended by Rick Steves Scandinavia). It is situated on a cobblestone street and within an easy walk to the harbor. The room was impeccably clean and had a nice city view through the window. Shared WC was large and it was convenient to also have a...

The GH is very pleasant and nice, clean and excellent location. The owners are helpful and very welcoming. Only drawback is the stairs to climb to reach the GH, not too easy for elderly people. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

Accommodations in Bergen are expensive! We found this affordable recommendation in one of Rick Steves' books and decided to give it a shot. We don't need fancy - just clean and safe. Skiven Guesthouse is in a great location - just a five minute walk from the train station and the Fish Market area. This is the first time we...

This is a charming little guesthouse with several rooms, two shared bathrooms, and a shared kitchen. It's located in a neighborhood of old Bergen homes on a cobbled street, and the location is convenient to many sights (though of course Bergen is small and quite walkable). Our room has a lovely view of the city. The walk from the train...

Anyone planning a trip to Bergen knows that this is an expensive location for holiday; Skiven Guesthouse is a great option, clean, convenient and affordable. The accommodation is basic but very clean, the bathroom is shared with other rooms in the guesthouse. The location is ideal, short walking distance to all the main attractions as well as the train station....

This was a very convenient, clean and pleasant place to stay right in the centre of Bergen. Certainly good value for money given Norway's outrageous prices. Charming lady who runs the guesthouse was extremely friendly and helpful. Shared bathrooms were not a problem at all. Use of kitchen and table and chairs in room allowed us to save money by...

This nice little guesthouse was in a great location in Bergen's old town. While not huge, the rooms were cozy and clean, as were the guest kitchen (a bonus) and the shared bathrooms. The owners were lovely people and accommodated our unusual needs - three people in a room (a bit cramped but we saved money that way) and a...

I chose this guesthouse because I wanted to be near the center and the station, I wanted a reasonable price and I wanted to stay in a wooden house. And that is exactly what I got. At the time of booking I clearly indicated my arrival time. However, upon arrival, my room was not ready and I was politely invited...

“You don't really get to choose a room and I'm not sure if this is a choice in a guesthouse, but the good thing about being next to the shared toilet and bathroom is it's easy to tell when they are empty without having to open the door and check every five minutes.”
  • Spotlessly shared bathroom!
  • Cozy to a T.
  • Room feels like home, and has a view.
