HUGE hostel, about 1000 beds. Feels like a prison. We were placed in a room with like six 40 year olds. One of them slept from 6pm to 6am and then woke us up by banging a can of chick peas against the wall to try and open it. She then started to blow dry her hair although she had...

We stayed in a 6 bedded room (we payed for 6 even though we were 5, so that we had the whole room for us with ensuite bathroom). It's a little expensive but Oslo is not a cheap city. The hostel has got many bedrooms and there are many young people (especialli Italians and Spanish). In the hall you have...

I stayed in the Anker hostel for 7 nights for a conference, in a 8 people dorm room. Pretty much everything about the stay was horrible, except the price. First, check in is only at 3 pm, and there are huge lines then. Before you can store your luggage in a supposedly locked luggage room, but it's always open, so...

This is a good hostel, but due to it's size the entrance can feel like a small airport than a hostel. the Staff work hard but do seem a little over-worked. Security is good, location is good, and even though it is located in what seems a bit of a dodgy part of town, I found Oslo generally quite backward...

Remember the Icelandic volcano when all flights in Europe were cancelled? The Anker refused to return our deposit even though it was impossible to fly there! We canceled as soon as we were told the flights were canceled.

Considering it was the cheapest accommodation that I found in central Oslo, I was pleased with what I found. I agree with the reviews that say that the area where the hostel is located is not the most pleasant; however you don’t feel threatened or scared especially if you have lived in other multicultural cities. Even though the price of...

Finding a place to stay in Oslo can be quite a challenge, especially for those with a tight budget. This place is probably one of the less expensive alternatives you’ll find in downtown Oslo, but it’s still a poor value for money. We stayed in one of the double rooms, hoping to get better comfort than in the dorms, but...

Not a bad location. Five minutes bus or tram ride to the center (Karl Johan st.) or to night life area (Granulorka). Hostel feels secure; there is a lock on the door to the hallway and then on the door to the room. Shower room wasn't great, but the room had a kitchen. And, it would be great if one...
