Stayed here for 2 nights in July, and was satisfied with our stay. I would have given this a 3 rating other than the person at check in made a bad situation ok. We booked a family room that stated that it had two twin beds, a double bed and a pullout bed. As a family of 4 with two...

I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel anywhere in the world. I was booked to stay here for 3 nights but checked out after one sleepless night and went elsewhere. The hotel is on one of the busiest streets in Oslo. Loud and I mean loud music was blasting out until 4am below from a live music bar....

Great location - great hotel staff, always willing too help. Whilst a kettle was not in the room you can borrow one and they provide you with cups and a selection of teas and coffee Our room 307, being next to the lift had a chunk of the room taken by the lift. No noise from the lift but weather...

We weren't sure what our experience would be at the Best Western Karl Johan given some of the reviews we read. The hotel does seem dated, particularly with respect to the Best Western we stayed at in Bergen. However, our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We were on a third floor room facing inward. The view wasn't pretty -just...

We booked well in advance and so got quite a good price; We had a superior room which was very comfortable. The location is very central; we were were on the top floor so any noise from the street below was pretty minimal. Great choice of breakfast and housekeeping was good. The interior is a bit jaded and could do...

Great location but the room was extremly small and poky. I had a street view room and the weather was very warm when I was there but I was not able to open the window as the street noise was really bad even with the window shut. Breakfast was ok however it was in a windowless and souless room. OK...

The Karl Johan is housed in a restored building on the Karl Johan Gate, the main pedestrian street in Oslo across from the Storting and the National Theatre. We were there on a sunny summer day with temperatures in the upper 20s Celsius. Our room was a good size with steps up into the bathroom. The shower door did not...

Had an excellent stay here: the service was extremely courteous (Zita's enthusiasm will live long in my memory), the location unbeatable, the breakfast very good (including a waffle maker and @ 50 NOK/person the best deal in town for a packed lunch) and the rooms (if lucky to get upgraded) quite large.

prime location in Oslo, and given this location in Oslo, the rate of 1075 NOK would be a really great one, even considering the very small room and the very small bed (140cm / 55" wide). If there wasn't that noise from a live music establishment in the basement, and for sure it was not music which made the whole...

This hotel is in a perfect location but is a little run down with some quite small rooms. On my first night there was construction in an attached building which started at 1130 and which prevented sleep. Although the night staff seemed nonplussed as to how to handle this, the response from management the next day was excellent with upgrading...
