I wish I could remember the name of the woman who served as the concierge during my stay at the Scandic Vulkan! She was helpful, kind, and took time to inform me of local festivities, the available amenities of the hotel, and how to travel throughout the city from Grünerløkka with ease. She was one of the sweetest Norwegians I...

I spent one night at Scandic Vulken and have decided that will be my future place in Oslo. As far as I am concerned hotel rooms are for sleeping, and what I ask for is a comfortable bed and and nice bathroom. Which is what I got. The foyer offers interesting art and original furnishings that gave me a friendly...

Whatever you do, don't let them give you the "dreamroom". It's sponsored by a thrift-shop (no joke) and it shows. Key features include mad handwriting on all the walls, and furniture that has been donated from the nearest bankrupt antique shop. Apparently there is more fun to be seen in the bathroom, but I didn't stick around to find out...

Thank you for taking the time to give us this valuable feedback. We are very sorry that our brand room did not appeal to you. We will certainly consider this feedback when we plan our new rooms in the future, and we'll certainly be better informing the guest about the room in advance.

We live in a nearby city and chose to stay at Scandic Vulkan for a romantic weekend. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was great with an amazing view of Oslo and the breakfast was superb. Best of all is the location which is in walking distance to great restaurants and night life. We also did some shopping...

Fantastic hotel in a great location, there is not a single thing I can complain about. Very clean and comfortable rooms, and the hotel is eco-friendly. Perfect breakfast, with a wide range of dishes to choose from, everything was delicious. The staff is helpful and friendly. With Mathallen right next door and quick and easy access to the city centre,...

Stayed three nights and enjoyed the Mathallen food hall. Mostly we took a short bus ride into the city centre or longer ones to other sites. Great public transportation. Used the helpful Visitor Center at the train station. Decor is eclectic and the room was a bit small but the breakfast had the most variety and quality one could desire....

Oslo is very spread out and it´s easy to stay in the touristy areas, but at Scandic Vulkan you can experience the real Oslo close up. This is where you find the sunday markets, the cultural life and the many wonderful independent shops. Also the beautiful Akerselva is right by offering super nice sunday walks. The Hotel it self is...

A very good hotel, located right next to the scrumptious Mathallen food hall and renewed Vulkan quarter that was once an engineering works. Good rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. And I think one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had. The hotel is some 1.25km north of the centre of Oslo, and it has to be said that the...
