Let me clarify. It’s a 5* hotel, rooms great, staff helpful as you’d expect. Great location too. But here’s why we were disappointed. Checked in lunchtime Friday and was advised the spa was only free to guests until 16:00, after that you have to pay NOK300. Ok, not the end

We went for an upgrade, when checking inn. That meant a bigger room, and also on the 7 floor, with a balcony. (note:the balconies are only on this floor) Giiving us a view of the city halls towers. We had fordrink at the top bar "eight" with stunnings view over the main street

The hotel provides easy access to/from the train station and attractions such as the Parliament, the Palace and it’s grounds. Even if you are not staying in one of the rooms, you must visit at least visit the cafe.

We did not use the laundry service, but considering how ready to please the staff was, I'm sure it would be excellent (and expensive). The hotel is a block away from a university. I can't imagine there is not a low cost laundromat nearby. (If you do find and use one, Elias Mat and Sint is a restaurant adjacent to the university that is wonderful. You will be the only non-Norwegian dining.)

I am not sure, maybe check with the hotel directly. I normally get the fast train from the airport (fly go) which is much quicker and cheaper into Oslo Central station and then walk to hotel, this only takes 5 mins.

This was a first class hotel. We needed heat--and that was no problem. Not sure Oslo has that much need for AC but I'm sure they have it--for quiet noise if nothing else.

"would go for the 7 floor"
"Make sure to get a room higher up and closer to the elevator otherwise you might end up walking a lot to get to your room."
"Might be worth upgrading for a better quality room"
"choose another location or at least check out the room location"
"Ask for a city view which in this case is a view of Parliament and the park that stretches to the Royal Palace."
