It's not a great place but for 10 Euro it's a good deal. Huge dorm, mostly clean. Reception is inconsistent but mostly was quite helpful and nice. Inconvenient to access reception from the room though. No kitchen but they were clear about that and I could plan ahead for it. Location was excellent. If you're on a budget, this is...

Would not stay here again. The reception area was in a completely different building than our room and our 'room' was a massive area with a ton of people that opened right onto the street. It was dirty and gross and the wifi was spotty at best. Sure it was cheap, but if i could do it over I would...

our experience in this hostel was absolutely awful. We were 4 of us and booked a 12 mixed dorm for 2 nights. When we arrived at the hostel we could not help noticing that it looked like a garage from the outiside and getting in the smell was unstandable because the room where we were (one of the three places...

location is very good, close to shoping area and to main attractions. All the other aspects are with a minus. If you only want to sleep then you can go here but for 1 or 2 nights max.

I went to Europe trip with 3 girls in March 2008 till early 2008. We reached Vienna Hostel at about midnite and the lady at the reception (with long white hair) was very rude and uncompassionate, unhelpful and down right rude. If not for the late night, we would have moved to another hostel right away. The hostel is very...

DO NOT STAY HERE!! I have stayed in hostels all over the world- India, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand,Vietnam-this is by far the WORST experience I have ever had in a hostel! In fact, it is not a hostel, it is a random room that they give you a map to and leave you to find your way! It was dirty...

The thing that struck me absolutely is the location - just in the CENTRE! Five minutes to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, ten minutes to the Opera. A safe, quite nice area. And a fantastic reception! Very friendly, providing me with lots of information about where to go and what to do in the city, useful free maps - absolutely perfect! The...

Whatever you do in Vienna, just steer clear of this mousewhole, don't even deem it worthy to set foot to! I doubt that it is even a hostel! Situated on the second floor of a run-down house in the very centre of Vienna, you'll have a breathtaking view over a noisy building site from your window. Don't bother opening it...

To start with the positive things first: the hostel was very cheap, and the location was good. The rest was very poor. Bad service, filthy room and bathroom (with no lock in the shower). The rules of the hostel was also a bit doubtful. To sum it up: if you are looking for a good hostel, don`t choose Blue Corridor...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
