This small hotel is big on location. Just a 5 minute walk from the wonderful museums and the very centre of Vienna!. The Hotel is located on the longest shopping strip in Vienna, so there is always plenty to do. Yet despite this excellent location, there was no noise in my room (34) and I slept wonderfully on my very...

This charming hotel is tucked just off a major shopping street that leads directly to the museum district. It takes less than five minutes to reach the Ring Road. The personal service is great! I want to mention Armin, Nadine and Bettina on the front desk. Each of them are knowledgable and most eager to assist. When my scheduled tours...

Das Tyrol really lives up to its description of small luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, very clean, extremely well appointed with super decor and the beds are really comfortable. Service is second to none. The staff on reception are so helpful and knowledgeable. Das Tyrol is perfectly located (on the edge of Museum Quarter) for exploring Vienna. There are...

Booked for a family trip. This small hotel is on the border of the museum and opera quarters, half a block off a main shopping street. We had 6 rooms per floor so it was very quiet and private although judging by the crowd at breakfast, full. the buffet was fairly extensive and eggs were available, cooked to order. Would...

This was an excellent hotel. We had Room 20, which was at the front on the second floor with a small balcony. With the doors and windows closed, there was no discernible street noise, as the windows and door to the balcony appeared to be double-glazed. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, a range of toiletries including mouthwash...

On arriving at the hotel you only see a door way at the top end of the lane. By the time the driver had our luggage out of the Limo we had the receptionist and a helper picked it up and took it into reception. Never before had we experienced this. The young lady that greeted us in reception was...

My wife and I stayed there in June. We loved the location, easy access to trains, buses and trams, walking distance to most museums and Vienna Opera House. This is a small boutique hotel but the service and amenities are anything but small. Rooms were perfect size for a boutique hotel. Breakfast was great as was the staff and management....

While there are many reasons to recommend the Das Tyrol, including a great location, fair price and excellent breakfast, calling it a luxury hotel is quite a stretch. We recently stayed for a week and with each day, I was less enthusiastic. Our room was quite small, but this did not bother me. The lighting was quite bad, so that...

Dear Irvinerev! Thank you very much for your kind words regarding our central location, the good value for money and the excellent breakfast. We may mention again, that we are a 4*star luxury hotel, member of Small Luxury Hotels, which is a selection of 4 and 5 star hotels. Most of our guests are aware of the fact that we...

We could only stay 1 night at this hotel but what a find. This is a gorgeous boutique hotel in an excellent location. The hotel hallways, lobby and guest rooms all have original works of art in them, and the breakfast room restaurant is like an art gallery! It is so fabulous to just gaze at the art whilst eating...

This was our final stop on a nearly two-week trip. We slept the best here of anywhere. The room was comfortable and quiet. We had a small balcony. The hotel seemed plenty conveniently located, right across the street from the museum district and close to lots of buses and trains. Breakfast choices were more than ample, though the service was...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
