We stayed here for three nights and were very impressed with all the staff. They are all incredibly helpful and obliging. We were given good recommendations for restaurants, transport and even cycling in the city. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, being on the edge of the Museum Quarter and close to 2 underground stations. I loved...

Two nights at this excellent, characterful small hotel in the main shopping/tourist district. Warm and friendly welcome by knowledgeable multi-lingual reception staff (special credit to Nadine who never stops smiling).. Small room but well-designed and extremely comfortable. Spotless, well-stocked bathroom. Only breakfast available but many good restaurants nearby. Altogether a delightful and relaxing experience. Will definitely go back.

Stayed here for our anniversary weekend, absolutely perfect choice for a short Vienna break. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are very well appointed. I don't think I've ever stayed in a cleaner hotel! Breakfast was simple but elegantly presented, again waiting staff super friendly. Excellent location (just off one of the main shopping streets);...

We were really comfortable at the Das Tyrol. The location is excellent with a short walk into the centre of the City. The Naschmarkt and Karlsplatz are also very close. The rooms are well equipped and airconditioned. Most importantly, the rooms are very quiet. The breakfast was varied and the breakfast team, like all of the staff, were very welcoming. Would...

This was the perfect start to our vacation: very well situated, great breakfast, gracious bath amenities, and beautiful room in which you can sleep in silence due to double panes windows. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I hope to return!

The Das Tyrol is a classy little hotel in a perfect location. It is literally on a nice upscale shopping boulevard, within easy walking distance of the Museumsquartier, St. Stephens Cathedral, the Winter Palace, and the Naschmarkt. The rooms are definitely on the small side, but they are perfectly manageable and the original artwork and decor create a very pleasing...

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at the Hotel das Tyrol. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to "downtown Vienna" shops and restaurants and various sites such as the Karlskirche, Stephans Platz and Stefanskirche, and just a slightly longer walk to the Sisi Museum. The hotel is a very short (5 minute) walk to the famous...

We loved this boutique hotel. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. The bed was dreamy after some of those we had slept in through Italy and France. Staff were very friendly and helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat. All their recommendations were excellent. We were only here for 2 nights, but would love to...

We stayed here for only two nights, but our stay was great. The hotel itself is beautiful and almost like an art museum. We loved our room as it was comfortable and the Wifi was strong. The breakfast was exceptionally good, and if you got hungry they would usually have a few snacks out in the lobby. The wellness center...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
