I can't say enough about this hotel. It has personalized service and a warm and gracious staff. We went during the Christmas season and the hotel was decorated in a charming and tasteful way. It looks like the bathrooms were recently renovated. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Rooms were of good size. Every morning we had a...

Beautiful boutique hotel situated close to the museum quarter. Stunning interior design of the hotel with lots of artwork adorning the walls. Breakfast is very good with a selection of continental meats and cheeses with the option of cooked eggs. The hotel is situated around a 20 minute walk to the old quarter which takes you through the parks of...

A charming, well-run, small hotel ideal for a short break in Vienna. The location is great, on a pedestrianized shopping street a few minutes walk from Museums Quarter underground station and the Ringstrasse's tram and bus stops, although we used the excellent Airport Driver taxi service (booked together with the Vienna Pass) to and from the airport for a very...

In central city location at the end of a main shopping street - easy to walk to most sites - old world charm decorated with lots of fun artwork and vibrant colors - dreary, cold October meant windows remained closed so street noise was minimal in 4th flr corner room overlooking the street (however, the department store across the street...

Great location, clean, and good breakfast. Rooms were spacious, bathroom clean and functional. Beds soft. And the breakfast was amazing. Location is in the museum district and close to all the sites. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location, on a quiet street, close to the Museum Quarter and only 15 minutes from the city centre. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts good. We enjoyed the (private) sauna and steam room

My wife and I have just returned today from 3 days at Das Tyrol (14-17 Nov 2016) and I thought I must write a review straightaway, otherwise I might not get round to it. I'm especially keen to write a review, because we really enjoyed our stay. No hotel could do more to justify the term 'Small Luxury Hotel'. A...

From the moment we walked into this small boutique hotel we knew we had made the right choice. Their front reception staff were so pleasant and helpful. They gave us a small book on restaurants that this hotel has complied. Great thing to have. The three restaurants we tried were all ones they suggested and we were so happy with....

This is our third or fourth time at Hotel Das Tyrol. We like the location, the staff, the breakfast options and the guest rooms. Its a one block walk to the underground station and a two block walk to the tram line. The front desk staff is amazing and will try to accommodate any request. I especially appreciate that they...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
