This is a very nice hotel located a block from the Museumsquartier and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, making it an almost ideal location for visiting Vienna. The hotel's small staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are modern and good-sized and equipped with in-room safe and coffee maker. The included breakfast was ample and included a variety of fresh incredients,...

This hotel was a recommendation and it is indeed a small gem of a luxury hotel. The rooms are small but well designed (definitely take the hotel up on storing luggage once you unpack) and beautifully decorated. The hotel displays many pieces of art - some very whimsical. The most hidden slice of heaven is the sauna area. With an...

I stayed four nights with my wife and adult daughter. We were greeted at the front desk by Norbert. He was extremely helpful and welcoming. We arrived well before check-in time, but a room was available, so he let us check-in early. This was a welcome relief after flying overnight non-stop 9 hours. He supplied us with maps, brochures and...

We had a lovely stay at the Das Tyrol. The location is excellent and within walking distance to the museum quarter, shopping, and old town Vienna. The room was on the smaller side but that didn't matter. The room itself was beautiful. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was AWESOME. Special shout-out to the charming Antonella, who...

I stayed with my wife in studio room at 4th floor. Room is very clean and spacious. In addition to continental breakfast, we can ask eggs including omelet. When we needed to leave early in the morning, we could have breakfast from 6:40 instead of 7:00. We really enjoyed staying here.

What a delightful Hotel. The effortless courtesy and caring ways of each person with whom I interacted made my stay absolutely perfect. Talking of perfect, it is appropriate to mention the soft boiled egg Antonela made for my breakfast. Imagine offering a soft boiled egg and delivering exactly that. Perfect! Doesn't that tell you that this is a special place?...

We stayed in this hotel during a 5 day long family vacation and we all loved it. The staff was nice, kind and accomodating, and some of them even made the effort of trying to speak in spanish. We stayed in room 20, which included a balcony with views to the main street. The room was wonderful, and out beds...

We stayed for three nights and would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel. It is in an ideal location in the Museumsquartier to explore Vienna. The artwork throughout the hotel added individuality, the rooms provided all amenities required, breakfast was plentiful with eggs cooked to order. We spent time relaxing in the spa enjoying the steam room and sauna whilst...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
