Located in a quiet street but near public transportation (train & tram), Hotel Geblergasse is a good hotel with good amenities for your Vienna stay. We stayed as a family of 5 adults and our room was a good size with room for 1 more person. The beds were comfortable though the comforters are not new but at least they...

Pros: Close to the metro, nice area, very nice staff, clean hotel. A few cons: - no hairdryer in the bathroom - uncomfortable beds and pillows (I am not picky at all - usually I can sleep on any mattress or pillow regardless whether soft or hard). Our beds were somehow wavy, the pillows had their synthetic insides bundled into...

We stayed here for two nights in June and we had a pleasant and comfortable stay. The room itself in June wasn't too hot or too cold. The bathroom was decent enough, and the beds were relatively comfortable. The wifi worked fine. We didn't have the breakfast as there is a McDonalds close by that we would get a coffee...

The hotel is nicely located in a quiet zone and if you have rooms to the back yard it even quieter. Also, there is a 5 min walk to the end of the street where you find a McDonald's restaurant and, just a few steps further, the "Alser Straße" metro/tram station from where you can go anywhere in Vienna. So,...

I stayed two nights here. The parking was a bit difficult but I managed it. The size of the room is correct. The breakfast was absolutely ok. Sweet and salty is available. It's a bit out from the center.

Stayed here for one night. Very comfortable room for my girlfriend and I. Walking distance to main town and sites (20 min walk) and close to metro link. Handy tip, metro for a full day pass is like 8 Euro for an adult, really cheap and great way to get around the city on all lines. Buy at a ticketing...

Pros: Nice hotel with clean, spacious rooms, good conditions, underground parking. The staff was friendly & helpful, location is ok (a little bit far away from the center but there's easy access to public transport - bus 10A for Schonbrunn and the Alser Straße subway station for the city center). Good Wi-Fi signal. Cons: no refrigerator, no AC (we didn't...

The place was clean, easy to find and good value for money. If you're on a budget then you can't go wrong with this hotel - nothing wow but all fine. The room & bathroom were both spacious but a bit dated. The double bed had 2 single mattresses in the same frame one of which was hard and the...

The room was fine and I guess it's ok for a 1 night stay. Nothing special here; the staff were efficient and polite; but didn't seem to be too interested. Breakfast was just run of the mill stuff. There were some construction issues with the bathroom; the shower door was broken. The metro station was a short walk away; so...

Really really small room, if you have more suitcases you will not fit them into the room. Maybe 2,5x3 meters. But ok spacious bathroom. Really really noisy. If you are from a former eastern european country, dont be surprised to get the worse rooms to the street. The people are driving like crazy on the street also in the night...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
