I spent two night in the Stadtnest Bed and Breakfast. Barbara was an excellent host who is fluent in English, and a great cook. She helped me with my direction around Vienna and took great care of me. The room is comfortable and most importantly quiet. It's located in an excellent part of town, just minutes by foot from one...

We stayed for four nights in two adjoining rooms with free use of a lobby and kitchen. The area is quiet and close to any number of public transport options. Barbara offered us a warm welcome and gave us a very useful introduction to the city and what it offers. We can thoroughly recommend this B&B.

Can't say enough about the 2 days we stayed here on 12-14 Nov 2016. The proprietor, Barbara, was incredibly helpful right from the get-go, showing us landmarks on a map, & calling up the Spanish Riding School to find out availability of tickets. The breakfast is totally organic, with home-made jams, and I'd recommend it. The rooms were spotless, and...

This is a nice, homely B&B in a quiet area in walking distance from Mariahilferstrasse (shopping street / pedestrian sone), tram and metro. The good sized rooms and the tasty breakfast and the service minded hostess makes this a favourite.

We stayed at Stadtnest for 6 nights and enjoyed every minute of our time in Vienna. The location of Stadtnest is great, close to Mariahilferstrasse and tram and U-bahn stops, but also a bit away from the tourist hubbub which we really liked. Barbara, our hostess, was wonderful. Her advice on what to see and do was invaluable to us-some...

We could not have been happier at Stadtnest. We stayed for 4 nights, our first trip to Vienna. Barbara was so engaging, helpful, and friendly. We so enjoyed our visits and chats with her. She is the best part of Stadtnest!! Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were filling and fresh and delicious. She has...

We spent 4 nights in Vienna and this B and B suited our needs very well. It's a very convenient location, maybe 10 minutes from U bahn (subway) or from the Westbahnhof train station. The hostess, Barbara, is a wealth of information about Vienna. Additionally, she has a very complete binder listing sights, restaurants, etc. Barbara's breakfasts are some of...

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights in mid-May. Barbara welcomed us warmly with coffee and quite the information dump. While it seemed a touch overwhelming initially, the wealth of knowledge and maps she shared with us proved incredibly useful over the course of our stay. She also helped us acquire tickets to locations and...

I stayed in the apartment for three nights with my husband and 2.5 year old son. It was a very comfortable stay with all amenities and very spacious. There is fridge, washing machine, AC in the main bedroom. There is another room with two small beds n Barbara was kind to place a baby cot and fan in that room....

We stayed for 4 nights - it was a perfect location in a safe residential area and quite comfortable. The breakfast was very good, Barbara was very helpful in planning our days and we saw more because of that. Also, we went to a few of her recommended restaurants. They were excellent! We mostly used the underground to get around...

Many thanks for taking the time to review Stadtnest, and of course for the great rating. I am glad you liked my suggestions and tried the restaurants I like. All the best from Vienna!

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
