We stayed here for three nights (Easter time) with my husband. It’s a very nice hotel in a great location. The tram and underground stops are close, which makes it easy to get to all the attractions and the airport/station. It is also close to the city centre, so we just walked. The room was spacious and clean, with a...

Nice and clean hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is simple but nice. Travellers with cars should book garage space before, as the hotel only has 4 places in its garage, and the alternative is about 500 m away.

This is a hotel that is close to the main transport routes. The underground and the city trams. Both systems will get you just about anywhere you need to go in the city. The hotel is clean and comfortable and you will not be paying the high prices of similar hotels situated in the very centre of the city. Our...

Nice bed, Nice bathroom, Nice room! The space was enough for my clothes, I had also a desk and the staff was cleaning the room daily. I had also a key from the hotel, as they were locking the front door in the night! The hotel was really close to the city center (10-15 minutes walking) and 5 minutes to...

The hotel is quite nice, good location, nice rooms. A bit old, but clean and functionable. Breakfast is absolutely ok for this price. If you need a place to stay in Vienna, for business or sightseeing, it is ok. For my needs it was ok, will come back for sure. Try the restaurant opposite the hotel, good food. If you...

The hotel was relatively cheap at the end of August. Strong points: good wi-fi, great breakfast, clean bathroom, two supermarkets in the neighborhood. Weak points: FAR from the city center, it's a 30-min metro ride to St. Stephan's Cathedral with one change! There is nobody at the reception desk between 12 am - 1pm, so you can't check in until...

I've stayed at the Korotan both times I visited Vienna. It is a clean, well-located hotel in Vienna. The breakfast is nothing super special, but you can fill up on food for a good start to your day. The rooms are decently sized but there is no AC, which can be an issue in the summer. We had rain on...

The hotel doesn't have receptionists for late night we had to take the keys of the room and open the door of the hotel to get to our...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
