The breakfast is to die for - delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect - close to all the major attractions. The rooms are spacious and modern. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stay here with my wife and 1 baby. Hotel is very nice but location is not in a heart of old town but not far (10 minute walk distance) Room is quite big when compare to other hotel in the city. Breakfast is very good. Staff is very helpful. Parking is fine (16 EUR / day). I recommend you...

We adored this hotel. It had lots of character. Very spacious, tastefully decorated and unique, and all the amenities we could ask for. On our one night in this hotel, I had the best night of sleep from our entire two week trip. Very friendly front desk staff. It was a great location. We enjoy walking, and we easily walked...

I was in Vienna for the birth of my second grandchild and decided to stay at the Hotel Rathaus instead of an apartment, and am very glad I did. The hotel is in an excellent location for a tourist, close to the ring and all the attractions. At the same time, it is enough off the standard tourist track to...

Dear grandparants :)! Congratulations again for your second grandchild. I am so happy you could join your children during this very important time and I am more than happy, too, we could play our part in order to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you also very much for rating our breakfast so positively..., just responded to another...

The location is pretty good, being close to the ring road which is about a 10 minute walk away. Metros and trams are close but certainly not next door. The street on which the hotel is could not be described as beautiful, but as it is a side street it is quit. The front desk recommended some good restaurants nearby....

Dear Mr. David, thank you very much for staying with us and also for taking your time to review us on Tripadvisor. Please allow me to respond to some of your "complaints". Not every room in our hotel has a bathtub (as almost every hotel in the world we are having rooms with bathtubs and rooms with walk-in rainshowers). Whenever...

Very nice and comfortable hotel out of the fray of downtown Vienna. The rooms each have a different vineyard theme which is quite charming. The personnel were helpful and friendly. There were great breakfast options. We would choose this hotel again in a minute. There are nice restaurants nearby and grocery stores close by as well. It is convenient to...

Apart from some issues with wifi, the stay was perfect. The Ro'i. Was stylish and convenient. The service was helpful and location was very convenient. I have not tried the wine offered right in the room, but next time I am in Vienna with my wife, I will try to stay here again.

Just a one night hotel stay, but a lovely hotel it is (with one issue). Beautifully designed, terrific room layout, helpful staff, great location. Worth noting that you have to climb stairs to the 'lobby floor', then there's an elevator from there on, but we knew this going in, and even for my mostly wheelchair-bound wife, it was doable. Arranged...

Our first trip to Vienna to take in the Medical Ball and the Opera and we found this great and quirky place to stay. Our room was designed around the wine theme of one of the local winemakers and was very comfortable and quirky. The staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding us to eating places nearby and also...

I spent two nights in Rathaus Wein & Design hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is very well located, just a few blocks away from the Parliament. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they pay a lot of attention to details to make you feel comfortable. Their suggestions for dining and/or places to visit were simply...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
