Good location, approx 5min walk from Rathaus station, small but clean room, wifi cost 3euros for 24hrs and I got the 2nd day for free. The man at the front desk is friendly and helpful with my Q's. Don't mind staying here again if I ever come and visit Vienna again.

This hotel is located in Josef Stadt very close to the Vienna Rathaus and convenient to the U2 and the Strassbahn. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are a bit cut up and some of them quite small, but all of the bathrooms and fixtures are new. Everybody works to make sure you are comfortable and feel...

Very good location, helpful stuff, great breakfast, very clean rooms. I don't really have any complaints, my friend and I had a great time in Vienna. We had a room next to the kitchen so it was a little noisy at 7 am but we got up early anyway so it wasn't a major problem!

We were staying 2 nights at Pension Andreas. This is the second time staying here, after 9 years. We loved it. The breakfast is very good, allowing to start the visit of Vienna as early as possible. Location is perfect, 10 minutes walking from the City Hall. Rooms are "old style", while probably this is an old building transformed into...

As a base for Shopping, christmas markets etc this is well located in a quiet side street. It is located 2nd floor & up, so either use the stairs or the small lift. The staff are friendly & helpful & the place is comfortable & immaculately clean with comfy beds, good pillows & crisp clean bedding. It hasn't been decorated...

The hotel is well located (only a short walk from downtown Vienna) and the staff is very helpful and friendly . The single beds are very small and the mattresses are old , the bathrooms are small but clean . The breakfast buffet is OK. I liked the flair of the Pension and I will stay there again on my...

I spent there only one night but it was a great experience. Pension Andreas maybe is not big but really cosy. Room for 2 people was quite big with bathroom and shower. We had breakfast in the morning, food very tasty. Andreas is close to the centre and metro stop Rathouse... Definetely I can recommend that place for a visit!

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
