We stayed here for a family celebration and it proved to be a great find! The rooms were lovely (not huge, but we were only sleeping there!) and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and all the staff were polite and friendly; couldn't ask for anything more.

We only stayed one night here, over a long layover. The staff spoke perfect English and were pleasant. Our room was very small; I don't know if this is common in Vienna, but it definitely surprised us. Even though it was small, it was clean, well-maintained, and quiet. The breakfast was very good. In fact, I would make a point...

Immaculate presentation, spotlessly clean and not a mark on any wall! We were lucky enough to get what may be their premium room and we couldn't be happier. The beds are extremely comfortable, the staff friendly and a there is a good selection for breakfast. Our room is on the top floor facing the internal courtyard and is the quietest...

Clean and comfortable hotel. Almost equidistant from the city and Austria Centre. The rooms are small, but have everything you need, including a safe. Had to stand on the chair to reach the safe. It was a shame that when the person in the next room was in the bathroom it was very noisy in the room. Breakfast was included...

This is a very nice hotel. My wife and I stayed for a few days in February 2017. It is not a run-of-the-mill chain hotel, which is very refreshing. It has some old world charm without being old-fashioned. It is on a main road but our room was at the back, and was quiet. The staff speak English. The room...

We recently stayed at this hotel for our first visit to Vienna and would definitely return. The hotel is lovely and authentic and the staff really go out of their way to help and advise as much as they can. Nothing is ever too much. (Uwe, in particular, as he went out of his way to help us find a...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
