The location we used was at Rennweg 33a. The apartment was very large, well equipped with dishes and pots, stove and refrigerator and coffee maker. The bed was ample and comfortable. The best thing about this apartment was that it was a few steps away from the metro and across the street from a tram stop. Excellent for getting around....

We had a spacious apartment that was clean with a comfortable bed at a very good price. Beyond that, you get what you pay for.... Several aspects of the apartment are in need of repair. There are holes in the curtain, unfinished parts in the kitchen, missing baseboards, damaged/worn furniture. The lack of wi-fi in the room was a disappointment....

Our room was ready for us early in the morning when we arrived. The service was great. The hotel is positioned near the city and very convenient - good public transport around. The apartment was very good - spacious and clean.

The Comfort Apartments are easy to get to, but being on the intersection of two tramlines it can be very noisy, especially if you like to have a window open. Our apartment was spacious but really needed some sprucing up - a cupboard door was missing, the paintwork scuffed and the curtains barely cover the windows. It was also quite...

The hotel is a little bit expensive, but is definitely worth it. We chose this apartment, because it is probably the only one in Vienna, where reception works 24 hours a day. It took us about an hour to get here from airport by the public transport, on the way back we called a taxi and paid €38 (not much...

The hotel, classified as Pension, is on the second and third floor and it is well located for the Unversity, close to Schottetor. Rooms are clean but fairly basic and with cheap furniture; good breakfast. If your room overlooks the Asler Strasse, prepare for the noise of the tramways' stop .

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
