Frau Klaus and her son, Gerald, were very helpful and friendly. They were very accommodating and provided us with extra toiletries due to our luggage being misplaced at the airport. A very good breakfast, of a wonderful selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and cereals. Not far to walk to the U-bahn or tram, and just a few blocks to the...

Schweizer Pension Solderer offers clean, basic accommodations in a great location and at an affordable price. Nearby tram lines and subway station create easy access to all Vienna sites. Vienna has the cleanest and most efficient public transportation system we have ever experienced. Schweizer Pension is a family affair, operated by Mrs. Klaus and her son. They are very friendly...

Just returned from our trip to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. We stayed here for 4 nights and found the hotel was clean and efficiently run. Mrs. Klaus and her son, Gerald, do an good job and make this place a good value for the money. They were very accommodating and provided a good breakfast. It is centrally located and easy...

Me and my daughter chose Schweizer Pension to sleep and have breakfast on a 3 day Vienna-trip. Our room had 2 separate very comfortable beds and a small bathroom with all needed inside. Both room and bathroom were clean as they were brand-new. The host was as nice and friendly as one can guess. Breakfast was tiptop, with a special...

Schweizer Pension is nicely situated close to Vienna's beautiful city center. It is family-run already for a long time. I believe it is run by the fourth generation now. Nice clean rooms, fairly basic, but everything is there. Pleasant atmosphere with good personal attention from the owner. Nice home-like breakfast. Very good value for money.

The location is perfect and the pension was clean. The price was good and the accommodations were reasonable. I didn't find it overly welcoming or friendly, but I've been spoiled by amazing accommodations and friendly places at reasonable prices across Europe. There was a really strong emphasis on everything you were not permitted to do (don't put anything in toilet...

The Pension is on the fourth floor of a traditional apartment block in the centre of Vienna. The welcome is very warm. The rooms are a good size and could be described as homely, but comfortable. There are only a few rooms, so I would imagine it gets busy in high season. Good breakfast is included.

It very nice cosy place for people with mid-range budget. It has about 10 rooms so in season it's better to book in advance. Be careful because not every room has private room. In some rooms bathrooms are shared. This hotel has certificate "environmental friendly" so it's perfect for eco-travellers.

We flew into vienna and found it very easy to get to Schweizer Pension from the airport. The location was excellent for walking around the city. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel was value for money. The only small problem was the distance of the shared bathrooms from the room. But generally we found it clean, comfortable and friendly...

The guest house is on the fourth floor of a city block (with a lift) very conveniently situated in the central part of Vienna, a short walk from the Stephansdom and near Schottenring metro station (and the airport bus stop). The owner and staff could not be more welcoming, and the (cold) breakfast was good. The rooms are clean and...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
