That was not our first time here. We were impressed with the the place when we stayed there in summer 2014. We had the same room as we had last time and to my surprise it was renovated and became very modern. Besides, a huge bathroom with both a bath and a shower as well as a double sink, really...

Hotel is perfect located, very close to old city center and metro station. We had basic standard room, even is old dated and very hot, is spacious and very quiet, with comfortable bed, coffee tea making facilities, no fridge. Breakfast buffet very tasty with plenty of choices. Friendly and helpful staff, we will definitely come back.

Spent 4 nights there for a business trip. My room was quite outdated, with very old curtains and carpet, as well as there was an actual metal key for the door, not a key card like almost everywhere else nowadays. The room was OK for a single room, quite a big bathroom with a shower, the bed was comfy and...

A very reasonable 3-star hotel with 4-star rooms. Well appointed, excellent, modern bathrooms. Helpful staff, a moderately priced garage near-bye AND, most important: a great location. Only a short walk to the center of town, lots of restaurants in the vicinity. We will come back.

Looks nice from the outside, but it needs a renewal on the inside. Our room was not good looking, and the extra bed was quite bad. The staff was nice and helpful, and the breakfast was good. We will not use this hotel again.

BEWARE: There are 2 different kinds of rooms. Some are really nice. The others are small, dark, stuffy, hot and ripped furniture. I had booked a standard room. When we arrived we were given the awful room. When I asked the front desk person where were the rooms that were shown in the pictures she said that was the superior...

This family-owned hotel, where the staff makes guests feel like family, has great rooms at reasonable rates. It is located only a few minutes' walk to two tram lines, less than 10 min on foot to the Rathaus (City Hall), Parliament Building and Hofburg Gardens on the Ringstrasse, and 20 min on foot to Stefansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral) at the...

The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. Equipped with water heater for tea or coffee. There is good WiFi and free of charge. The stuff is polite. They store the luggage free of charge in case of later leave. I am satisfied with my stay.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
