I am the director of a study abroad and have stayed at the hotel for 11 years in a row. Loved the staff. But walked in this year and knew something had changed. Did not recognize one person and they must have been fired. This year hotel was bought by a chain and it was like being in a hostel....

I stayed for a total of 8 days at the Furstenhof, and would certainly go back! The staff were friendly and spoke good English, you have to leave your key every time you leave so get to see the staff a lot, this saves you loosing it when out and about sightseeing I guess. Just over the road from the...

the hotel is in very good live location, in front of Westbahnhof , shopping street is on the corner. rooms are very big and well furnished ,the hotel itself is a monument as for it's decoration and it's architecture style.

The hotel is very close to the metro station, doesn't have a parking, but we parked our car in the garage on the railway station, which is a five minutes walk away. We stayed in a room for four, payed 81,42 EUR, without breakfast, which really was a bargain. The room was spacious, very clean, with TV, bathroom big and...

This hotel just across Westbahnhof (the 2nd train station of Vienna) is perfect situated if you want to have the city around the corner. Austrias only 24/7 shops are close by. The old town is easy reached by metro and the central station by tram 18. The hotels rooms are nice and except when my neighbour left the room I...

The hotel is well located. It is just opposite one of the main underground stations and the trams and bus stops. The airport buses start from there. The shopping street is just round the corner. The only problem is the cleanliness. The carpets are very old and not cleaned well. The rooms were not cleaned properly everyday. The reception staff...

I've stayed several time at the Fuerstenhof. The hotel is old, you could say - I prefer to call it historic. All is quite old, but shows signs of better times, when this hotel was state of the art, 150 years ago, I guess. You get a 24 hours reception, a very cheap viennese breakfast - take the cheapest version,...

Shortly: good breakfast and location, but some problems with the showers. Very clean, but nearby the church thats ring the bell early morning. Near U3 and U6 station and stops many trams. Three kind of breakfast from 7 am (from 5.30 euro).

I spent one night in this hotel. A big plus that it is close to the metro and one of the railway stations - and it is really not expensive for Vienna. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I booked a room with shared bathroom and shared toilet. The toilet was ok, it was just next to my door...

I stayed recently and I really really wanted to like this hotel but I wouldn't really recommend it. I stayed with my family and we had a quadruple room with own bathroom facilities. On a good note the room is spacious and our room was made every day and the location is superb. However the room is very badly lit...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
