The hotel was very nice except the shower. The shower head was pointing in all directions which made it impossible to wash hair.. The staff very pleasant, helpful & cheerful. However the hotel was great.

This was a decent hotel overall and the best thing about it was the kind service from the hotel staff. I booked this room because it was affordable and seemingly had good amenities and was in a nice part of town. It was definitely affordable, but the rooms were teeny. My room consisted of two incredibly small twin beds and...

This hotel was clean, spacious and the staff nice. Unfortunately the high cost of breakfast was a shock considering there was no indication it was NOT included -even the FAQ section states it is included. The one thing my son wanted to eat was a waffle and the machine was broke the two days. The breakfast was nice and contained...

We really liked the Boutique Hotel Donauwaltzer and would return. We stayed here for a week from 26th December 2016, over New Year's Eve period. Hotel is clean, breakfast is plentiful and excellent quality and staff are mostly very helpful and friendly- most have excellent English which helped given our German (although we'd been learning prior to our visit) was...

This was my first style in Vienna and I will return but to a different hotel. The room waa very basic and bed was uncomfortable. The room decor is in need of upgrade as was bathroom and shower which was quite small. Good selection for breakfast but when I asked if there was tea instead of coffee it felt like...

Cute retro vibe with musical instruments on the walls. Nice reception staff and bar. Conveniently located 1 block away from nearest subway. Lots of bars nearby if you're into that. Smelled smoke the first night but that's our only complaint.

This hotel is wonderful. Before our arrival, the staff were amazing, answering all of my queries very quickly - providing me with places to eat, visit and booking my airport transfers. I couldn't fault the staff whatsoever - both before and throughout our stay. The room we had on the first floor was perfect. It was fairly spacious and uniquely...

I stayed for three days (2 nights) in Donauwalzer Boutique Hotel and I will try to be objective and share my experience, with the intention of helping the hotel and the potential guests. I visited Vienna looking for fun. Things I like about this hotel: 1. The hotel has a great booking site and promotional prices tools that literally allow...

I stayed in a room in the 5th floor. It seems like all rooms are thematic, so we got the "cards" one. Really cool and funny. Really organized, very clean and amazing bed pillows. I will check them every time I go back to Vienna. I didn't try the breakfast. 😿

Dear Maurilio, Thank you for this positive and nice review. I am happy to read that you liked our newest WIENER ORIGINALE rooms (in your case from the Piatnik company) and the given free upgrade. Thank you for mentionning it. You did not try the breakfast!!!! you should have! It is really great and offers something for every teeth -...

The hotel is 15 minutes of walking away from the city center, the rooms are comfortable and warm, and the whole experience was complete because we stayed in the hotel during the Christmas holidays. The food was such a surprise, so diverse and fresh, like in the 5 star hotels. I warmly recommend the hotel to the families with children...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run establishment is only 5 minutes away from the Ringstrasse and lies directly on the metro line U6. The hotel is famous first of all for its excellent service and very rich hot and cold breakfast. The General Hospital and numerous private hospitals, the Viennese Brunnen and Yppen street markets, the Freud museum, Volksoper, Votivchurch, City hall or Palace Gschwandner are also in the walking distance. Because of a good location near the metro line U6 all the places of interest - from Grinzing to Schonbrunn - are easy to reach. The rooms are equipped with minibar, hair dryer, writing case, alarm clock, WiFi, sat-TV, radio, soundproof windows, phone... Classical live music on Sunday breakfast, leafy courtyard, 24 hours open bar with Viennese wines, private SPA or a Nespresso machine in your room are only few of the many extra services we offer, which explain our slogan "3 stars hotel with 4 stars service and 5 stars charm". Our hotel was built in 1901 as a wedding gift and offers for more than 111 years lived hospitality and Viennese tradition, also marked in the successful architectural symbiosis of Art Nouveau with modern elements. ... more   less
