I have to spent a night in Viena due my flight connection and I choose this one to be in a center of the city for a evening. The entrance seems as a hostel a bit instead of hotel. Whole time I have weird feeling I am going to visit somebody´s flat and not the hotel. I have to say...

Best of three hotels near that location: friendly staff, clean and large rooms. When you walk through the rundown building entrance, do not be fooled! Look at the old, magnificent murals on the walls. The hotel itself is modern and nice. The bed is quite good of medium hardness. I visited for 9 days in winter. The daytime temperature in...

The location is 10 minutes walk from the center and very comfortable. Breakfast is perfecet, nicely presented, fresh and wonderful service. I have only 2 minor remarks: 1. The water mixer in the...

Me and my girlfriend traveled to Vienna for the first time and stayed at Hotel Am Schottenpoint, just when we entered the hallway we were very impressed by the history of the building, a lot of paintings on the walls. The Hotel is located 10 min. walking distance from Downtown Vienna. We had a very nice room, very clean, with...

My friend and I arrived early in the morning and provided us with a room while normal check-in time is in the afternoon. The hotel is very central located, everything is walking distance. A deceent breakfast is provided in the mornings and...

We booked 3 rooms for 4 nights at this hotel following earlier positive reviews on this site. All of us dropped out after the first night as the rooms were all but uninhabitable. Broken plaster and mold on the ceiling were the lesser of the problems - massive dirt incl. hairs, crust and stains to an incredible extend wherever we...

Everything of interest was within walking distance. Trains were easy for a few points of interest outside of the city. The front desk was polite and helpful, the breakfast was sufficient and the rooms were clean. Not luxiurious but I was not expecting that, this place actually exceeded my expectations for an affordable European hotel.

Our intention was to stay again at the Hotel Pension Franz, 100 m toward the corner but the voice from the phone guided us to this hotel. After an annoying entrance door, passing through an splendid hall I found a small reception, a very friendly receptionist (Romanian speaker) and a nice, clean, comfortable and silent room. A kettle and teabags...

I've stayed at the Schottenpoint for a week in July. Breakfast is modest (though fresh and tasty), rooms are not huge, but... great service is what made my stay memorable. Whatever questions or requests I had, I was always welcomed with a positive attitude and professionalism. Also, location is nice - 10 minutes walk to Town Hall square PS. Rated...

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
