The property is located near all of the public transportation, museum quarter, and city center. My room was adequate, though there is no airconditioning in the hotel whatsoever. However, we stayed there with two other couples that had very small rooms that were a bit dirty and antiquated. We received a very good rate at this hotel so we werent...

.. then you can stay at the Papageno. My room had no aircondition. The window glass was very thin and therefore quit noisy room. Two sockets did not work (meaning no elecricity for my laptop). Definitely not for the business traveller, and for privat accomaodation I found it too expensive.

Well positioned, 2 tram stops away from main attractions. There´s a 20 euros parking but not soooo close to the hotel, and the staff will encourage you to park by the street. I did it (had the fortune to find a place) and had no problems. Nice and helpful staff. Breakfast ok, but not great. Free internet, wich is great,...

The Papageno is a run of the mill, functional business type hotel in Vienna. The entrance is squeezed between a row of shops and is quite easy to miss. It is within reasonable walking distance of the historic part of the city and most of the sights. The hotel staff are very good - pleasant and helpful but despite their...

We stayed in a double room for 2 nights. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast is wonderful, there is plenty of food, every one's tastes can be satisfied. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's near the city centre: 2 tram stops and 1 metro stop. Anyway, you can walk to the city centre: late in the night,...

This hotel was exceptional value for us in January. We asked for a twin and were upgraded to an apartment. The breakfast was nice and the hotel was very convenient ot the city. The staff were exceptionally helpful. I would recomment the hotel to anyone.

We stayed in a very large family room in Dec 2005 for 5 nights. Room was well equiped with 4 proper beds, tv, mini bar & telephone. Bathroom was cleaned / restocked each day. Breakfast room was very clean and bright. There was a wide range of food and the staff were very quick to replace items running low. Food...

After a long trip around Austria over the Christmas and New Year period, four of us had booked into the Hotel Papageno on our last night. Although we did have a LOT of difficulty finding the hotel (when you come out of the station, you have to walk down Weidner Haupstrasse for approx. 10 minutes), we were pleasantly surprised by...

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Papageno for 3 days, and then travelled to Germany for a week. We then returned to the Papageno, having been impressed the first time. However, on our return they gave us a room with an internal bathroom that positively reeked! They claimed to be addressing the problem of the smell, but never...

My family stayed two nights at the Papageno in a quad room. The hotel is in a reasonbale position perhaps ten minutes walk from the centre. Public areas are well presented and the staff were very helpful in all respects. The room was plesently decorated although our room faced into an inner courtyard which made it a little dark. The...

Staying in Wieden

Neighbourhood Profile
Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighbourhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.
