We have just stayed here for four nights and couldn't fault this fantastic hotel. Perfect location: walking distance to all the main attractions, the hop on hop off tour bus ( excellent and very good value), a few minutes walk to the underground and also where you embark for trips along the Danube and to Bratislava. We travelled from the...

We stayed at Stephanie Hotel for three nights. The hotel is well located near the old town. Old hotel, but with style and nice atmosphere. Service is top class and breakfast one of the best we have ever experienced. We'll definitely come again.

We stayed four nights in this hotel and we loved it. Of course I musr say we had the superior rooms which are spacious (318 and 319). The other rooms are much smaller but seen the price, still a very good deal. Beds are good, airco well functioning (we had 35° C during 4 days !!), clean bathroom with sperate...

Hotel Stefanie is a mid-size hotel (120 rooms) with an old-time luxury feel at a really good price. It's just north of the river and the city centre, but everything worth seeing in Vienna--museums, palaces, galleries--is walking distance. There are a few very good restaurants in the neighbourhood. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. And breakfast is fantastic.

After being in cramped European Hotel rooms for the past few days, Hotel Stefanie was a breath of fresh air with its large and spacious rooms. The decor, the garden, the uniformed staff, tall ceilings, but also the keys, the rooms, and the lack of smart power-saving features, give this hotel a very retro-feel. The breakfast is excellent, including champagne(!?), and beautifully arranged in a great dining room. The location is also very good, just 10 min. walk to St. Stephens' Very clean, very professional staff.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
