We stayed here for 3nights and absolutely loved it to bits. The location of the hotel is excellent which is close to the U1 metro line station Schwedenplatz. The main attractions and shopping area are at a walkable distance from the hotel. The rooms as mentioned in the reviews are a little small and compact. The breakfast is a huge...

My wife and I travelled to Vienna from Budapest, where we were on vacation, to attend a concert at the Ottakringer Brewery. We chose the Stefanie after quite a lot of research and it met all our criteria. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and very professional. They were clearly very proud of their work and this meant that the...

Hotel Stefanie is in a perfect location for a short break in Vienna, just 5 minutes away from the city centre. Breakfast was excellent, the room was lovely and warm ( well below freezing outside) and the staff could not be faulted. There's a slightly old fashioned feeling to the place, but not in the sense that it needs upgrading....

Hotel Stefanie is located a few minutes walk from the metro station Schwedenplatz and it is easy to walk to the city center where there are lots of restaurants. The area is quiet. The style is a little old-fashioned, but very clean with a fantastic service from everyone and a very delicious breakfast, which is included in the room rate....

We have recently returned from a delightful trip to Vienna having picked the Hotel Stefanie for our three night stay, by checking out previous reviews and the hotel's convenient location both for the sights and easy connections with a nearby underground station. We were not disappointed by anything the hotel offered, from its history, being Vienna's oldest hotel, to our...

I stayed here for a night in March and it was just great. Fast wifi, excellent breakfast, accommodating staff, located right near the U station across the main street. Couldn't have asked for more . The room was small but neat and the water pressure in the shower was great ! Would stay here again!

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
