This was not a very impressive place when you compare it with the other best western hotels. Rooms were neat but smaller than i expected. Proximity to station was the advantage and the reason to book this place, its a 5min walk. The staff was nice and helpful.

Needed a hotel room quick, w/o a reservation. This hotel met my expectations and then some! Relatively inexpensive, I think I paid 70 euros for the room, which was very big! Free breakfast was unexpected, and quite the smorgasbord!

Then you'll love the archaic internet service that barely if ever works, but will cost you 14 Euros a day, even though their website says it's for free. There's a sign in the room, they will tell you angrily, which clearly states that is only for the first 24 hours! Of course, you can't see that damn sign from America...

Total waste of money! The hotel is max 2 star hotel (they say it's 4 stars). It's unclean, noisy (you can hear your neighbors breathing, the floor is noisy), the service is unfriendly, the traffic noise outside is loud, there was no water for 4 hours, etc…

I only had one night in Vienna and chose the Arenberg which I found on a hotel discount web site. It was only a 5 minute walk from the Wien-Mitte station where the airport train arrives and was about 5 to 10 minutes from St. Stephen's, in short a very convenient location( also close to the underground and a block...

I stayed in winter and the elevator was working but, of course, no air conditioning needed. The room was great, breakfast excellent with homemade muslei. The hotel is located inside the Ring and about a 5-minute walk to Stephenplatz and 2-3 minutes to U-Bahn. Staff was courteous and helpful. The pension was Frau Arenberg's and famous artists who stayed there...

I am spending two months in Vienna, one week of that at the Hotel Arenberg. Prior to my check-in, I was told the hotel had air conditioning. My room did not. Although I could open the window slightly, the road noise made that a marginal solution. The room was quite small and the bed small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was...

My boyfriend and a friend of ours stayed here in our abbreviated visit to Vienna. We arrived to a building surrounded by scaffolding, the hotel was under construction/remodeling, and there was no elevator available to bring our luggage up the 3 floors it took to get to the hotel opening. The staff was nice, but the room was terrible. Linens...

Hotel-pension Arenberg gives you that posh Vienna feel. My room had a balcony and queen-size bed. The bathroom had tub & shower. For breakfast you get homemade muslei and other good food. You are within the Ring, 5 minute walk to Stephesnplatz, 2 minutes to U-Bahn and 3 minutes to Air Terminal (where buses arrive from airport). Staff is very...

Definitely not the Ritz, but a nice inexpensive hotel. We stayed for a week in March 2002 and enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff was courteous and helpful. They kindly put up with my clumsy efforts to speak German. The room was a bit cramped and the decor reminded me of Mike and Carol Brady's bedroom, but it was a...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
