Well having read so many negative comments on this site we were pretty pessimistic about the stay. But the availability of rooms combined with the hotel's close proximity to the city center made it the better choice for the New Year's visit. When we made an initial telephone inquiry the lady answering the phone stated that the hotel was fully...

First of all the street parking – there is none. Vienna is a no parking zone for visitors and you have to use one of the paying car parks of which there are a number close by. The hotel is well situated and only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. I paid Eur 35 for 2 nights. The...

I came here for the New Year's Eve and I will never choose this hotel again. The pillows and the blankets are dirty, the sheets are stained with something greasy, the curtain is dirty as it hasn't been washed in the past 20 years and, above all, just as we came from the New Year's Eve party, we found out...

Stayed for 5 days, chose hotel on position, price and free internet access. No lift and it is on the first floor, so be aware if you have lots of luggage. Room has everything (desk, table, chair, small coffee table, another chair, wardrobe) but very dated and worn, and limited soundproofing. Hot water is limited if everyone showers at the...

When I read two review I thought this hotel has small rooms but clean and comfortable. But it is just a dream. The hotel is well located. Easily reachable with tram D, subway U2 and U4. The room was very small. The blankets and the pillows were dirty. The towels were not arranged (like somebody has just used before I...

The rooms were clean, but small. We stayed there on two seperate occasions and got the first room on the right and then to the left of the recpetion area, which had a heavy cigarette smell from the smoking area close by. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was very well located with tram D connecting to...

It can be reached by Tram D. The rooms are clean and quiet. The breakfast is simple. Besides, there is no lift to the first floor rooms.

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
