This Hotel is ideal if you are looking for an accomodatione close to the center and Stephanplatz. It is not a luxurious hotel but cheap clean and comfortable. People working in Mercure is friendly and helpful. The only defect is that the hotel could be a bit noisy during the night. It is closed to some bars and pubs and...

Good location , safe , clean , good buffet breakfast (see below). Worst feature - the noise from outside - no sleep till after 0330 (I am not a light sleeper) Room small and needed a refurb. Breakfast good but expensive . You pay for the location.

I don't like to give bad review but I like to be honest. First the staffs are great and helpful. No reflection on them. The room however smell like smoke and stuffy and the noise from the below the building was ridiculous. It was going on til 3am in the morning. The people was so loud that they woke us...

We booked a room in the classic building or second part of the hotel which is up the street and a flight of outdoor stairs. This building has it's own reception and breakfast room. The rooms were dated but comfortable. The walls were thin so neighbours could be heard talking and using the bathroom. We were on the 3rd floor...

We chose this hotel because of its location - it is literally 5 minutes from the underground train, around the corner from my favourite shops: L'Occitane, The Body Shop, and Lush. Hidden in the next street is a beautiful clock "Der Anker" which we saw everyday, but did not know that it played music and had characters moving around, until...

This hotel is pretty typical of the city centre "Mercure" franchise. The rooms are relatively small but well furnished - the bathroom was well fitted (though no bath if that's a worry!) and there is free wifi. The room has a very nice flat screen LCD TV, but don't hold your breath for anything too much in English - BBC...

booked by the company for biz trip. This hotel has 2 part. One very nice, cosy and more "vip" and the main hotel which is definitely a touristic place, of course also because VERY central in VIenna. Main disappointments: very loud. Could hear the elevator from my room. Had a very cold air conditioning in the room that you cannot...

The hotel is very close to st. Stephan Dom. It's in walking distance of all the major sights. The area is a bit dirty compared to other parts of Vienna since there are a lot of bars around. The room is small but comfortable.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
