The hotel is beautiful and the staff are helpful and courteous. We stayed for four nights over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is superb, the buffet alone is outstanding but you can also order anything hot you may want (anything from freshly made panacakes to eggs benedict. The concierge helped us with restaurant recommendations and bookings. The...

We stayed at the Hotel Sacher Wien for 6 nights in mid-December so we were in a great old city location to see the Christmas Markets and walk around to see all of the holiday decorations. The hotel is excellent, well managed, and the staff works hard to provide a friendly atmosphere. It is expensive, but if you can afford...

Our family spent four nights in this exquisite hotel. Home of the famous Sacher Torte, everything about the place exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was the best we have had in Europe. The rooms were spacious and elegant. The concierge (Wolfgang) and his crew were exceptional and even arranged for a small Christmas tree in our room. Yes it is...

This was our second visit to Vienna, but our first stay at the Sacher. Upon arrival we found that we had been upgraded to a presidential suite. What can i say? My teenage son thought it was 'pretty sick' and i will tell you that having a dining room, living room and 2 bathrooms can't hurt anyone's vacation. I was...

We stayed at the hotel Sacher right after Christmas in snowy Vienna. Having already been to the Sacher in Salzburg (outstanding!), we had similarly high expectations of the Viennna orginal. The hotel entrance and public areas are surprisingly small and feel a little cramped- the reception is tucked away to the right, there is no entrance hall to speak of...

Sacher is one of those hotels...where all the very important people of world have stayed...and will continue to stay. At the very centre of Vienna visiting the Sacher is as important as visiting the Opera House. Excellent rooms and we were upgraded to suits. Starting from concierge to the person who is serving your food are highly trained and courteous....

The Blue Bar has to be one of the most iconic watering holes in the World. It is beautiful. Just 20 seats and pretty full with 14 customers. ( Vienna restaurants, bars, coffee shops lose upto 40% occupancy by not providing anywhere for their clients to put the seemingly 3 layers of clothes they take off when they refuel, that...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your visit at the Blaue Bar. I am very sorry that your experience did not entirely meet your expectations. Please allow me to express my sincerest apologies regarding the disappointing service, this attitude does certainly not represent the philosophy of our brand. Please rest assured that...

This was a wonderful stay in Vienna at one of the best traditional hotels worldwide. I stayed at several fife star hotels, but this one was something special. You can feel the history behind the hotel. The interior is lovely and the service really nice. I could not criticise anything about this stay. It was just beautiful.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
