We stayed at the hotel the night before our departure on a bike tour. It is located in downtown Vienna right across the street from the opera house and easy walking distance to most of the city. I imaging that this is how many grand hotels used to be - tons of personal friendly service, big brass room keys, a... More

We arrived at 8:45 am and not only we got a (free) early check in but also got upgraded. Luxury hotel with a reminder of Imperial Vienna but never gives that feeling of being overwhelmed by a heavy luxury: there is also a modern twist instead, e.g. in the bathrooms. They spoil you with chocolate bath amenities and a free... More

We stayed in this place for 5 nights. It's a nice old charming place famous for its cake. The staff are helpful and courteous. I dint like the bed nor the pillows. Especially the pillows flat and small. I asked for another pillow but the they gave me more of the same. Anyway the hotel is lovely. The breakfast buffet is... More

Wonderful old Hotel in the middle of Vienna. Rooms and public spaces are exceptional as is the staff. We stayed for three nights in September and went to the opera. The concierge arranged for us to get tickets.

We were attending a conference in Vienna and chose Hotel Sacher because of its history and reputation. We were very impressed with the property. While the amenities appeal to the senses, it is the staff that make the experience. The courtesy and respect accorded by the Concierge staff on arrival and by Sarah at Reception was memorable in her attention... More

I have been to Vienna four times, and this stay in the sacher is the best. Firstly, location is unbeatable - faces the opera house, adjacent to the prime pedestrian shopping street, near many other attractions (such as Albertina) as well as the subway. Secondly, the hotel is itself a major piece of art inside and outside - "inside" refers... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
