I would highly recommend this hotel as one of the 'old world' hotels remaining in Europe. Excellent service throughout with a high standard of dining at the Anna Sacher, Rote Bar and home to the famous Sachertorte.

A terrific experience of Viennese charm and style in a hotel steeped in local tradition. Beautiful surroundings, great location and fine service. I particularly liked the photographs around the reception of famous guests. The public rooms and especially the green Anna Sachet restaurant are lovely.

Really excellent service, helpful waiters, topbreakfast, several dining opportunities. Best 'Torte' in town (Sacher). And an impressive Christmas tree as the unexpected jewel in the crown. We went there for Christmas with my mother-in-law, who was really content about our perfect stay. Maybe the best spot in town, located drectly opposite the Wiener Staatsoper and the (must see) Albertina Museum,...

This hotel is in a central location and we were able to walk to all the tourist sites. The staff at the hotel were amazing; everyone went out of their way to make our stay special. The room was on the small side but nicely decorated. Fresh fruit and artisan chocolates were placed in the room and replenished daily, much...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
