As its name suggests, this hotel is not far from the Staatsoper. The location is excellent for visiting many of Vienna's sights, including the museums clustered together just outside the Ring. The staff are very helpful, breakfasts are quite good, and everything is very clean. I think the building dates from the late 19th century, so this is a good...

Perfectly located in the center, very charming hotel with a facade and interiors (rooms included) in typical Viennese ancient style: lovely and charming. Very kind service. Little details in the service which make the difference. For instance, in the evening the book I was reading was put on my pillow ready for reading, with a little candy. The staff do...

The location of the hotel is perfect, the parking facilities are near by and easy to find, WiFi and breakfast are included, the staff is friendly and caring, but the overall impression is that the hotel is outdated. The lack of airco in the hot Vienna summer is difficult to bear; the ventilator helps, but certainly not enough. The bathroom...

The location of this hotel is simply superb, being just around the corner from the main shopping street, the State Opera House and tram/underground stops, although you will rarely need to take the tram or underground since most of the main sights are within walking distance. The rooms are admittedly small, but with such high ceilings, large windows and cleverly...

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. The rooms are extremely small and the bathroom is so small you have to be careful so you don't clunk your knees or bang your knees on the wall when using the restroom...and I'm only 5'5. The woman manning the breakfast in the tiny room was crawling over us to...

Excellent position, cozy place to stay. Well-furnished room facing a side street of Kärntnerstrasse, rather quiet even if crowded with bars, restaurants & Co. The bathroom was somewhat small, but I wouldn't say this is a flaw if you are not oversized. Very good breakfast: it may look less abundant than it really is because it is cramped within a...

Small family run hotel, awesome location (Ringstrasse main shopping street in vienna) 5 min walk from the State Opera and Karlsplatz underground station. Excellent service and very walm people. Clean pretty rooms, only flip side is that they're a little small.

Stay in turn of the century Viennese elegance in the Staatsoper. The highlights here are the could not be better location - within the ring, one block off the congested pedestrian street, and a short jaunt to the Ringstrasse tram. The drawbacks are small rooms; very small breakfast room; and, no air conditioning (but rather large windows.) This would not...

Our stay was in September 2011. Location is the only plus...walking distance to everything. Stay here if you can endure the extreme street noise daily that starts as early as 6am. The noise is from the street cleaners, garbage collection and deliveries. NO A/C.....in any rooms. Extremely tiny and confining rooms. Breakfast was ok.....but in a tiny area. If you...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
