I stayed here for one night and for business reasons. The hotel is not in the old city centre but is in walking distance to major attractions. I stayed in a room completely white decorated; this is the concept of the hotel, all rooms are said to have one color. The bed was very comfortable; the amenities in the room...

Again, after Brussels and Paris, a marvelous experience. The rooms are magnificent, though we had a white room where the curtain does not keep the room dark in the early morning. This detail is of very little importance compared to the service, the style, the incredible Le Loft at the 18th floor, the location and the super room.

Very central hotel in a safe area. Only 10 minutes walk to St Stephen's Cathedral. Very trendy roof top bar and restaurant. Excellent service from staff. Rooms equipped with every mod con. Very comfy bed.The only negative was my room was pure white from the floor to the ceiling and this wasn't very restful. Apart from this was excellent.

We stayed at the Sofitel Vienna around Christmas 2012 and absolutely loved it. The crisp white modern rooms were well designed and inspiring - with an amazing view. The space felt so calm and relaxing due to design and layout. The bathroom, separated from the room by sliding doors, felt sleek and with maximum use of space offered a bathtub...

I couldn't even imagine that Sofitel Vienna was that good when I decided to book my stay in Vienna there. Besides the location, that is just great, in front of a subway station and the channel of Danube River, hotel's architecture is amazing in a very cosmopolitan way. Hotel bar at the 18th floor has an unbelievable view of the...

You either like sleek modern or you don't. If you do (or if you don't mind either way but value tremendous service and excellent accommodation) then stay here. It's brilliant. Unfortunately I only had one night. As a A-Club gold card holder I was upgraded to a luxury room on the 13th floor with a great view of the city....

Check in: In one word….PERFECT. The hotel vehicle collected us from the airport so they knew exactly when we would arrive. We were met by the hotel staff who told us about the facilities of the hotel and gave us his card with his details in case we needed anything. Check-in was done within 2 minutes and that’s exactly what...

Spending some time in Vienna is always nice. Having a room on the 15th floor of Sofitel Wien as a starting base makes it even more great. A very modern design room with a fully integrated bathroom, great quality of furniture, a perfect bed,....15th floor is not that far from heaven. Yet , the restaurant is even nearer to heaven....

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
