Stayed here a few nights in May 2013. The front desk staff were excellent, knowledgeable of what was happening in the city every night, so we had a chance to catch some great music and bars. Great restaurants in the area too.

It was a long time I haven't been in Vienna. The Hotel Imlauer is a very recomandable Adress. As we did not know it before. We were very pleased about the nice recently renovated room. At the bar you will get very good Mix-drinks. The breakfast can't be better, specially when it's included. I hope we will have once again...

Very clean place. Modern looking hotel with good service. Some people may find it a little bit too far from the town center, but all it takes is a short walk - 10 to 15 mns. - to get to Stephen's Platz. And there are other means of transportation nearby. So I was very satisfied with the choice I made....

Arrived and had to leave our luggage because our room wasn't ready which was fine because we had not made previous arrangements to check in early so we grabbed a city map and wondered around. When we came back to check in the girl advised us that we had been upgraded to a suite for the night. Room was fab...

Stayed at Hotel Imlauer in Sept. 2013 as the first leg of our central European holiday. Vienna as a whole, and Imlauer was great way to start a holiday. As others have stated, this hotel is not in the central part of the tourist center (if you define central as being Stephens Platz) but its less than 1 mile to...

This hotel is a close walk (10 min) to the city center and a 3 min walk to Taborstrasse subway stop. From the vienna train station, take the u3 (volkstheatre) then catch U2 to taborstrasse. The hotel room is beautiful and clean. They have a number of modern amenities (including using your key card to initiate the lights in the...

To start with I am reviewing the junior suite, as that is the room we stayed in:) Our room was beautiful. Very clean, comfortable bed and lovely spacious bathroom. Felt very at home here! Only minor problem encountered in this room was that from the bedroom to the bathroom there are two small stairs. In the middle of the night...

A very modern and clean hotel. Rooms were very spacious. Hotel is well situated close to the centre and close to tram and underground. Worthed particularly if you are on a short trip to visit Vienna. Cannot complain at all, staff at the hotel were very helpful.

Don't be deceived by the reception that looks modern and kinda funky. My room was beyond horrible. I suspect some of the rooms are more modern based on the work being done in my block, but my room wasn't one of them. The room smelt dusty, that was after I managed to track down the more offensive smell to the...

I am really satisfied from staying in this hotel! First of all it's really close to the city center ON FOOT (8-10minutes walk)!!! Secondly the standard of the hotel is very high: rooms were very clean, big, the bed was comfortable. Whatis more its close enough to u-bahn station . The big minus is the price of breakfast: 17 euro/per...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
