Our family (me, my wife and our daughter) were the guests of Haunsperg castle on June 2012 and it has been the most remarkable and warm experience we could ever imagine. Adorable and loving hosts Georg and Erika-Therese did their best to make us feeling even more comfortable an cosy than we do in our small flat here in Moscow....

What a gorgeous historic castle. The suites are exceptionally appointed with family heirloom high quality antiques. The overall warmth of the place is due to it's gracious host's Eike & Georg. They make you feel like part of the family as soon as you arrive. A glass or two of wine with Eike along with interesting and funny stories of...

I can't say enough wonderful thinks about this historic hotel! First off, the owners are the nicest and welcoming people!! They made us feel like family! They made dinner reservations for us, upgraded our room since it was our honeymoon, gave us a tour and told us all about the history and stories. The places is around 700 years old...

The greatest asset of this Schloss is it's hosts. They consistently went above and beyond the expected in order to provide us with the best stay possible. On the first night, we walked to a neighborhood restaurant for dinner. While there, it started to rain. When our meal was finished, we prepared to walk home, only to find Georg waiting...

The hosts were very friendly and helpful but the overall experience was not worth it. Here is a list of the negatives: 1. It's too far from Salzburg 2. Our top of the range suite didn't have a TV, coffee maker and the so called double bed was actually two separate single beds separated by wooden barriers, etc. 3. The...

Although the Schloss is quite a drive from Salzburg (15 minutes), it is worth it! Georg and Eike are tremendous hosts. Our family of 4 had the most wonderful rooms allocated to us on the upper floor. The furniture is antique and tasteful, just as you would expect to find in an old castle. A memorable stay indeed!

It is always a pleasure to stay at a place that is obviously loved by the owners and the guest, and Schloss Haunsperg is one of those rare places. Our teenage sons loved just the notion of spending 3 nights in a castle. Cindy and I enjoyed its ambiance and the village of Oberalm, a five minute stroll from the...

There are mostly good reviews on here, but it is hard for me to see how anyone could give this less than an Excellent rating. I was a bit worried that it might feel old and dirty but even though it is very (very!) old, it is so well maintained and clean that the age is only a benefit. The...

On our first family trip to Europe we wanted to make sure we stayed in at least one castle. We couldn't have made a better choice! The hosts were wonderful. We felt like family as we were welcomed each time we came "home", provided information on sites to see and started the day with a wonderful breakfast buffet. Our group...

We spent two nights in this lovely castle hotel. The place lives up to its definition. It is a real castle with impressive old furniture and paintings, a chapel with a bell and owners that seem to have come out of a children's story (from the good pages). It's a class act all the way through, from the duvet and...
