Upon arrival at the hotel we were told that our rooms were standard and therefore they were located in "our second building, just across the street". However, "for just 20 eur you can stay in a superior room right in this building". The second building happened to be another hotel ("Residenz"), which apparently Wolf had bought and hurriedly tried to...

Wolf Dietrich Salzburg Great Staff, but mostly sad, gloomy, run down, worn-out rooms, need some work with lights too and please put in some decent beds. Surely there are better places to stay in Salzburg The main building is really run down, dark and gloomy. The rooms could really mess up someone expecting somewhere nice to stay. The annex across...

The rooms were so beautifully decorated! They were very clean. By European hotel standards, the rooms were very large. The hotel was situated centrally in the new part of Salzburg...easy walking distance to all parts of the city. The breakfast service was like dining in a fine restaurant. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg!

We traveled with 2 children (7&10) and were able to stay in one of the family suites. There was plenty of room for our family to not be on top of each other. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were able to walk to the fortress and get to the old town very easily. Everywhere we went, the...

The first good sign came when they were able to get us into our rooms five hours before check-in time. This was greatly appreciated since we had just arrived from the US and were tired and in need of a shower. The location worked well for us because all the tours we were interested in were located near the Mirabell...

The service was excellent - everyone was friendly, my bags were taken to my room without my having to ask (which was very fortunate because there are stairs even in the main building), and one guy even loaned me his personal USB charger after I lost my Europe adapter. My room, unfortunately, was not so great - there was no...

The location is fine, only about a 6-7 minute walk into the old town centre. Breakfast was excellent and we had absolutely no complaints about the service. However, this is not a 4 star hotel, not by a long shot. It is an average 3 star at best. No air conditioning, the decor isn’t great and the whole place is...

The service and the accommodation was a real winner. The breakfast was better than hoped for, brilliant. The annex does not have lift but staff will to carry luggage upstairs for you. Most old European hotel don't have lifts, not a major deal.

We had a great stay - 6 nights in the Residenz. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, well decorated. Certainly no signs of "tired" or in need of updating as other reviews seem to suggest. And to be honest, not only were the stairs up to the room a godsend in terms of cream cake calorie usage, but also in comparison to some...

We stayed in 4 hotels on a recent holiday and this one was the best by a fair margin. Quiet location but only a few minutes walk to the Mirabell gardens or the bridges over the river. All the staff we met were friendly and welcoming without exception. The place was immaculately clean. We didn't use the spa but went...
