I actually visited Salzburg a few years ago and had walked by this hotel a few times. I always thought it would be a great place to come back to. I was right. I stayed there over christmas 2011 for 10 days. The accomodations were comfy, clean and cosy. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh and the afternoon teas a real...

I've been coming to the Wolf-Dietrich for the week of Christmas since 2006. And what a gem I've discovered. Each year, a new facet of this diamond of a hotel displays itself. Today -- Chrismtas Eve -- I returned to my room to find the front desk attendants had left a Christmas present and a huge plate of traditional Austrian...

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Great location, within easy walking distance of the Christmas markets and the main shopping areas. Breakfasts are good. The room we had on this stay, whilst advertised as a superior room was a bit on the small side and generally tired looking. My son and daughter in law's room however was what...

My wife and I took a weekend trip to Salzburg and stayed at the Hotel Wolf Dietrich. We were given a room in their annex across the street, however, it was very accomodating and nicely decorated. There is no elevator, but they will bring the bags to your room. Parking is about 2 blocks away, but was secure and no...

The Hotel Wolf-Dietrich is located a 10 minute walk away from the old town of Salzburg. My son, husband, and I stayed in the Residenz across the street, way at the top in one of the family suites. There is no elevator, and the walk up was difficult, but totally worth it. We were rewarded by a two level suite,...

We stayed here a couple of years ago in February (not 2011). Beautiful old hotel and great location. I asked where St Sebastian's Cemetery was from the hotel when we were being led to our room. Our bellman said -- "look out this window" -- it was right behind the hotel! There was snow on the ground and everything in...

We stayed in the magic flute suite and it was the most romantic room I have stayed in, and we travel a lot. There was rose pedals and chocolates on the bed, special lighting, comfy bed, spacious room. The hotel has a nice pool/spa area as well, which was very enjoyable. The tub is romantic looking, but not practical for...

Jorg Scuhr, (I think he is the manager) at this hotel provided four weary travelers with the best service we received anywhere during our 2-week trip to the Czech Republic and Austria. We arrived before check-in, were allowed to store our bags and took off to explore. We knew that we were in the annex across the street with no...
